Brought my Freebie 20 year old Craftsman Lt1000 back to life after sitting outside in neighbors yard for 6+ years, most people don't realize that there's a reason for this cable to break after reading negitive reviews. You must clean, lubricate and grind out the notches worn in by the blade brakes on the mechanism on the deck before attempting to just replace the cable, if you don't then you will continue breaking cables....its part of the normal maintenance of owning one of these machines !! YouTube and anti-seize are your friend !!

This was a perfect fit for my rider. I broke the old one right after changing the blades and belt, and getting deck back on. These weren't available locally, so I chose this one (price). All other options for this, or other brands, would take a few days to get. While waiting, I removed the old and got everything ready. Once I received it today, probably took me only about 20 minutes to install. another 5 minutes to reinstall the gas tank - removed for easier access - and I was ready. Took it for a test cut and it worked great. Would have cut the whole yard, but it I decided to wait until the rest of the snow from this morning melted! Near 80 a few days ago, and 2-3 inches of snow today! Typical PA spring

I needed one because mine was broken, but there were several different brands and vendors for the same item. I read the reviews and all were bad and said they broke within a day. This brand had very good reviews and everyone said it lasts, so I bought this one and it has lived up to the reviews. Works great, easy to install, and no problems and the price was not bad either. Avoid other brands.

Installed on my 2008 Craftsman 42" LT1200 after the original cable finally broke. I watched a Youtube video about how to do it.Very straightforward installation and now the blades engage easily. "Like Butter".You need a socket wrench, a pair of needle nose pliers, a cable cutter, and a flat head screwdriver.

It is an exact fit. Easy to install if you remove gas tank and turn tractor onto left side for easy switching out. Make it easier if you remove the knob and bar assembly out to the open to connect the plastic end of this item. Part is great replacement.

Was quoted a price of $31+$8 shipping at local Husquavarna shop. Was told it could take up to 8 business days to get. Same piece wasn’t OEM but worked just as well

Somehow ended up with two of these. They fit good and work well.

At first I thought this cable was too short because the black outer part of the cable was about 6 inches shorter than my old one. I decided to go ahead and give it a try anyway and it did fit and works properly. I lubed up all the moving parts of the deck that move when this cable is engaged and it works so much smoother now. It had gotten very hard to engage the blades.
