Naked!

Cute book. Has the character put on clothes at the end because he's cold but he's never reprimand for being nude and playing.

So I'm studying picture books with an eye to possibly attempting to produce them; good idea to read a few, huh? Since I have met this illustrator (not the writer I think) I figured it would do as an example. Turns out that it's an excellent example of the form. Yes, form, not genre. The genre is probably adventure, but it's told in free verse poetry and pictures. Including, as I told Deb, an excellent illustration of how to do the Hokey-Pokey. If you don't know, buy this book and you'll find out. Since I can't spoil it (nobody in the target audience is likely to read this for several years at least) I can say that it's a story about a boy who hops out of his bath and runs around the house naked, then in a cape, eating a few cookies along the way, until he gets all tired out and falls asleep. Yes, falls asleep, and that's a dream for his parents, I'll wager. In sum, this is a fine story, wonderfully told and beautifully illustrated. If you want more than that out of a book, then good luck Chuck!

I got this book because my grandkids always run around in their undies! They are 5 and the first time I read it, they threw themselves on the bed laughing!! Great success! They LOVE it and request it every time they come over. Or just randomly yell "NAKED" !! And crack up

After reading the reviews, I thought this would be a great add to the collection. We've got a great sense of humor in our family, afterall, what kid doesn't think being naked is funny?I took this to my daughter's first grade class, was a little hesitant since you never know what some parent may think when their kid comes home and tells them about their day. But a month after I read to the class, one of the other parents told me that her kid raved about the book almost every day since! It's a cute book and had a lasting impression on at least one of the kids in the class. And that's how you know it's a keeper!

This is an excellent story. I think it would have been more fitting if the little boy were given a butt crack in the picture where he says, "Running around naked" and if he said, "Clothes? Who needs clothes?" followed by, "Who needs pants?" and the rest. I also think it would've been more fitting if he said, "I should be naked all the time," instead of "I should dress like this all the time." Despite that, the story is still great. I loved being naked when I was little. I also had naked fantasies during my childhood at times.

I bought this book For my son’s fourth birthdaybecause it reminded me of him. After I read the book to my son he wanted me to read it again and it is now his favorite book and I have to read it multiple times a day to him which I don’t mind because I enjoy to. Also I am hey Michael Ian Black fan from his film and TV roles

This book is a MUST have! Buy it for yourself, your little people, your nieces and nephews, friends who are new parents ... SERIOUSLY! My kids (5 and 7) both love this book and we now have "inside" family jokes about it. On top of it, from a parents perspective it is 100% completely accurate. Hilarious!I bought this because the cover looked cute. The inside just gets better and better... Matter of fact, I now have purchased 6 copies to gift to people.

The only reason I withheld a star for this book (which could have been *written* for my grandsons) is because the parent is the mother---as usual. If the author was trying to be sensitive to the many faces of families these days, he could have had a man rather than a woman. Otherwise, it is a WONDERFUL book and I can't wait to see their faces when they see it!

Lots of fun and very true to life! For all its exuberance, it also works very well as a bedtime book, as the little boy in the story goes from racing around to realizing he wants his pyjamas and his bed. We preordered this because we loved "I'm Bored" by the same team, and were not disappointed!

Love, love, love this book. Feels like it was written for our 3 year old son, he loves it more than we do. Only took him a week or two to memorize it and he takes it everywhere so everyone he knows can see it. Everyone always enjoys it. We borrowed it from our public library and then of course, had to have it in our personal library too.

My Kindergarten students LOVE this book. Many of their parents asked where they could buy it because their children went home and told them all about it. This book has been read MANY times in my class...our new favourite!!
