Great for people that are sick of combing the internet for facial solutions!
I used to spend hours combing over the internet trying desperately to find something I could do to solve the skin ussies on my face. From pores that were too big, dry patches, to acne, and redness, I was lost in a sea of web pages that seemed to be more interested in telling stories and selling products than actually being of any help. Then I got to try this book and I felt a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders. This book is perfect if you like to use natual solutions to treat common skin problems on your face. The information is laid out so nicely and the ingredients do not require you to buy anything expensive or exotic! I had almost all of the ingredients in my kitchen already! A lot of the ingredients I had tried but thanks to haphazardly thrown together web pages, I was apparently doing it all wrong. My favorite is "Wholey Cow" for shrinking my pores. Although it doesn't say in the ingredients, I would suggest whole milk, and try to use organic if you can but you don't have to. (I just do it for my peace of mind.)The inclusion of the masks along with the cute titles of the recipes makes this book not just functional but so much fun. If you're having a sleepover or a girl party, this is a must-have!5 stars for a wonderfully thought out product. I love this!

Great Gift Idea - Nicely Designed and Full of Fun Ideas!
REVIEW (special thanks to the publisher for providing me with a review copy)This wonderful little book comes with 38 recipes for all different skin types and the majority of these masks are so safe that they are edible! They use simple wholesome ingredients like chia seeds, yogurt, honey, oatmeal, and chocolate. As a teen, I had no money to spend on masks but my mother and I always made our own. The neighbors had walnut and avocado trees while we had orange, apricot and pear trees in our yard. You would be surprised what you can do with some simple ingredients. One maks we always made was just plain mashed avocado mixed with olive oil since we had really dry skin. You just add the oil until you get a thin consistency and apply to your skin, leave on 15 minutes and rinse with warm water. Your skin will be super hydrated! This book comes with 8 reusable sheets to keep your mask in place. Just be sure to hand wash and lay flat to dry and you can get several uses from each one. They are decorated with charming illustrations of the different ingredients you can use. This would make a nice gift to include with a basket full of ingredients.

mask recipes
YOu actually get a kit - the thin booklet and a bunch of paper masks, all attached to the hard cover. YOu can remove the booklet so the whole thing would not take too much space after you use up the masks. The booklet has a bunch of recipes to make masks and apply them directly or with the enclosed paper masks. The paper masks are printed with designs to make it a bit more fun. Most of the masks require blender as they use a fruit or a vegetable that needs to be pulped. Each of the recipes has list of benefits, like acne fighting, or for oily skin, or for redness and such. The ingredients call for a lot of yogurt, fruits, including tropical fruits, honey and eggs. You can store prepared masks in the fridge for a few days. There is a nice variety of recipes for all kinds of problems. Overall, it is fun book for beginners to try and make your own skin care items.

Easy recipes, delightful gift
This book would make a lovely gift for someone who likes to make their own skin care products. The book is made of sturdy, glossy cardboard and opens out to a two-fold design. On one side is the book, on the other a sort of envelope that contains 10 decorated paper facial masks. The mask concoctions can be applied to the masks or directly onto the face. The ingredients are simple and something you're likely to have in the pantry -- honey, oatmeal, coconut oil, olive oil, coffee grounds, etc. The recipes are simple, with 3 easy steps. The directions are illustrated as well as presented in sentences. In the back of the book, the author describes what each of the ingredients is supposed to accomplish (hydrating, acne busting, etc.) and each recipe is tagged for the purposes it is intended for. Personally, I'm not excited about putting things like olive oil, honey and coffee grounds on my face, but that's just my opinion. For the right person, this would be a delightful gift.
