Start Your Engines 5-Minute Stories Hardcover – Picture Book, March 4, 2014

Got this for my 2yo son. COVID had kept us from the library for the first 2 years of his life, so I bought a lot of books. I'm an avid reader and I really wanted to foster a love of reading in my son. The 5 Minute Story books are great because you get multiple stories in one book for a decent price. However, they also tend to have stories all about the same character. This mama was going to lose her mind if she had to read the Mickey 5 Minute Storybook one more time. Enter this book...game changer! Great stories from actual books (not just made up for the purposes of this compilation) and perfect for my truck/tractor loving boy!

This is a wonderful collection of stories. My 2 year old son and 5 year old daughter both enjoy hearing the stories. 'Pug in a truck' is our favorite in this collection. It is nice that there are some classics in the book but also some stories you probably haven't heard. The stories vary a bit in length but none are over ten minutes. We have been reading these stories for more than six months and keep going back to them.

We bought this for our little nephew because it had several of our favorite stories (Curious George Rides a Train, Katy and the Big Snow, etc.) and discovered several more that we love! This book is full of good, quality children's literature, and it's in a sturdy binding with quality paper pages.

Although a nice book, the stories tend to be longer than 5 minutes and are geared to older children - I had hoped these would beappropriate for toddlers. We will save the book for when our granddaughter gets a little older.

I love the stories (very educational), more than my toddler and preschooler. They are a little wordy for their attention span and take us a lot longer than 5 minutes to read. They might enjoy it more when a bit older.

Great quality story book. Perfect for my teen with autism. The stories interest him, and they are short enough that he can read to me. I love the padded hard cover. I highly recommend.

Was not very impressed with the story collection. The kids dont show interest as its always sitting on the shelf. I was expecting more character stories, but only about 2 stories are worth reading. There are no stories of the little blue truck, just one line jokes.

I take this book on the road. It's a bit heavy but there is always a short story to flip to and it helps passes the time while we wait.

My son loved each story, some were classic ones that are very familiar. The pages were smooth and glossy, nice to hold and flip pages. My book did arrive a little bent from shipping along the way, but not a huge deal. If I were buying it in a store, I obviously would get one without a bent in it.
