Q: can this be used on painted or primed surfices

Yes, I am in the wood finishing industry, We use it after we prime as well as before, It is important to know what primer as this is a a filler that does get very hard and putting it on a soft primer might not work as well as a primer that gets hard. We use it with Pigmented Catalyzed Conversion Varnish. as with most products you will be creating a mechanical bond so it is important to sand for adhesion. We use it for shallow areas that need to be filled. It feathers in nicely.
