ALDERS PICNIC BENCH with back rest 7ft.
The one we had is a 7 footer , its good Quality nice chunky bench that was easy to put together , I consider myself a bit of a DIYer , so I didnt had any particular issues with assembly .To the manufacturer's credit I must say they are very good in the sense that they were kind enough to provide 3 or 4 extra bolts and rubber coverings for those bolts as well as a tightning key which I only found out in the bag with bolts only after I paid a visit to my local Srewfix 🙄 , but hey that was my fault as I assumed that the manufacturer of bench might not have provided .One thing however I would suggest to the manufacturers if they are reading my review in relation to the design of the bench , there is a minor Flaw the way its designed , and I have provided a picture of that flaw and its circled in Red. Basically it is the two pannels that act as the leg of seating , their is an angled wooden support that one must bolt in 45 degree angle to underneath the seat and the 2 panneld leg of the seat , I am sorry I dont know the exact terminology to describe but picture is worth a thousand words they say , so hopefully you would figure out what I mean once you look closely to that picture .Now what is the problem with it? Well the 2 pannels that act as the legs of the seat , they are obviously 2 individual wooden pannels and therefore has a gap/crack between them , now when you bolt the piece of wood in 45 degree angle to make the overall structure of seating more sturdier , the BOLT ENDS UP BANG IN THE MIDDLE OF THAT GAP/CRACK BETWEEN THE 2 PANNELS OF SEAT LEG . And therefore the bolt CANNOT BITE in the wood and therefore in my view it makes the legs of seating bench wobblier .I screwed a small piece of wood to both pannels of seating legs so that they stick together as if they were one wood pannel and not 2 , hope you know what I mean 😁 . Think of it as a "Stitch in two pieces of fabric" my little addition of piece of wood acts as a stitch . Hence making it solid and sturdy .Other than that its a lovely bench for garden , I am a BBQ guy 😋 and its a wonderfull natural looking piece of garden furniture , give it a couple of Coates of TEAK OIL like I did and BOB will be hopefully your uncle for a very long time . Thank you ALDERS , over and out ✋🏽✋🏽
