Great Blu-ray with BOTH versions of this Jackie Chan favorite.
Fans of Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and HK cinema can celebrate. After years of U.S. releases of Jackie’s movies being relegated to the edited versions prepped for these shores, we get the real deal here on this great Blu-Ray. The main feature is called the extended International cut, as it is even longer than what was seen in Asia except for Japan. This has the longer version you could only get on DVD in Japan, now fully remastered (according to what I’ve read) derived from a new 4K scan from the original negatives. As the film was made almost entirely in English language, the original sound is intact. As a bonus feature, also included is the edited U.S. version which is 10 minutes shorter, but has a completely different music track that sounds amazing. The film is a great deal of fun, and having the two versions makes this essential for fans.

Pure, wholesome, bad—- fun !
I’m a JC fan but > importantly everyone I’ve shared this with agrees : wholesome movie crammed with laughter is great “therapy”. Need a break.. Watching good guy v bad guy without gory violence but with well choreographed martial arts in this lighthearted comedy is a great way to relax. Especially like outtakes @ end, showing JC performing own stunts! Even though shows damsel in distress classic rescue these damsels can hold their own in a fight. Something 4 all ages; intelligent asides, respect towards elders/others.. Just watch it & certain you’ll be wanting to share also. 🤓

Great release! But it's missing a few things :(
This recent HD blu-ray release by Warner is terrific! We finally got we've wanted after all these years! Let me go over a few points. But before I begin, if anyone is interested in muxing the ORIGINAL 2-channel audio tracks with subtitles that translate the end credits song and give more nuanced translations to the Mandarin dialog, let me know and I can provide you with a link.1. This blu-ray is the uncut, and un-dubbed, Japanese version of the movie! The international version by New Line Cinema is cut by about 10 minutes, was given a PARTIAL dub, and re-scored. They also re-cut and re-arranged several scenes for pointless reasons and gave the film a slightly lighter tone. Many of the cuts were violent in nature, in particular violence against women. So with this blu-ray you're getting UNCUT action sequences, and an uncut film in general.2. The Audio is decent. It's 5.1 DTS-HD MA. This is not the original mix, but judging by how it sounded through my TV, I think it sounded just fine. It's lossless. And besides, it's un-dubbed and it has the original score!3. All foreign dialog is subtitled! There are a few bits of Mandarin dialog in this film. However, there is one thing that is missing: the ending song (sung by Jackie) is NOT subtitled! That's a bit of a shame.BTW, there is an HD version out there on a few streaming services that MIGHT seem like the uncut/un-dubbed version. However, be aware: it's NOT uncut. It's the Hong Kong version actually. The Hong Kong version of the movie does not include the dinner scene, where Jackie and his friends/family talk about being a cop vs being a chef. The US version has this scene, but only partially. Also, NONE of the Mandarin dialog is subtitled! So yeah, this is worth buying.

Underrated classic
Honestly an underrated Jackie Chan movie

This version is better than the 1998 version.
When I saw the real version of Mr. Nice Guy, there were scenes that were very intense and I understand why the 1998 version was released for the family. This version is a great movie. I recommend this movie if you are a Jackie Chan fan or if you like martial arts movies.

Warner archives version
Amazing quality release, one of Sammo Hung's best films. Actual hong kong version of the film, not the butchered US version. This along with the SD releases of "pedicab driver" and "blade of fury" were brilliant moves by Warner. Please continue to remaster and release his films like The Victim, Enter the Fat Dragon, Pantyhose Hero and all of his other classic films made between 1978-2000 !!
