Exactly what I wanted!
The media could not be loaded. Β I can't say if this will rust or not because I haven't had it long but it installed easily, securely, and I love the sound! When I ordered this for my new bike, I asked my daughter if she wanted one, too. She didn't (she's 21). Until she saw and heard mine! It's a good thing shipping was free or I'd have been mad I had to order two separately but we love them! One thing I was concerned about when ordering online was the quality of the sound. Some bells had reviews that mentioned that the sound wasn't what they were expecting. I'm uploading a short video just to show how much space it takes up on your handlebars and the sounds it makes. I love that I can just push it a little for a polite "just letting you know I'm here" or all the way for a full, loud, "GET OUTTA MY WAY!!" It also rings louder the faster you push the thumb handle, and lighter when you push it slower. I'm surprised how quiet it sounds on the video because it's actually quite loud!

Much needed brrring brrring!
When people hear the brrring brrring they respond differently than those bells that are just dinggg dinggg - usually when they hear a ding they turn around and see what it is first. But the brrring brrring gets them moving to the side almost instantly. This is much needed when riding in NYC. People love to walk in the bike lanes here. Argh! And it just makes the ride unpleasant when you're saying EXCUSE ME or ON YOUR LEFT! with a tone of annoyance that can't be avoided. I even get annoyed when other cyclists yell out and I'm thinking "Get a bell!"Well all rants aside, this is a very pleasant sounding bell and it rings pretty loudly with a nice trail of sound. You can kind of determine how loud the bell rings by how hard/fast you press the lever. The only thing I wish is that it was a slightly more cheerful brrring brrring with a higher pitch. You can listen to the sound on Incredibells website. It's pretty accurate.

Small but noisy
This replaced a 40-something year old bell that had been at least four bikes. It was twice as big - about 3.5 inches in diameter. I miss its authoritative ding, but the trill from the new bell gets pedestrians' attention quite well. Seems sturdy enough to last. I hope I am still riding bike 40 years from now.

A bit quiet, but a beautiful lasting reverberation to make up for it
This bell has a beautiful ring with a long reverberation after the sound is made. I would have wanted it to be louder, as I doubt a jogger with earplugs in will hear me coming from a distance, but the reverb will probably attract more attention than if it were not there. The top is sturdy and does not screw off, while the underneath is mainly plastic. It is not difficult to ring, even if you push the lever obstinately, and in an emergency it will certainly be 'ready'.

Loud and clear!
This bell is great! It has a clear loud ring that is somewhat extended (briiiing briiiing). Not at all timid. Only issue I have is with the plastic parts for the lever, hence the 4 stars. On the handlebar grip, the plastic is quite sturdy. But the lever for the bell is also plastic. Looks well made (not at all flimsy), but I hope it holds up. I know it is hard to find all metal parts, especially at this price point. So I do recommend it!

Really nice, loud bell
I was looking for a louder bike bell because I ride on paths with a ton of pedestrians. The bill I had before was just a single "ding" sound, which just didn't get enough attention. This is the old school "brrring" sound that's very identifiable as a bike bell. It is quite large, so if you've got a packed handle bar, it may be tough to fit it in. The other thing is that I found it easier to ring if I tilted it so that I could use my thumb to push the lever down, rather than using a finger to push it horizontally. So if you're having trouble getting a comfortable angle to ring it, just rotate the bell around and try a thumb instead of a finger.

The bell does a nice job. I ride early in the morning
The bell does a nice job. I ride early in the morning. Lot's of joggers and dog walkers out. The bike is quiet and I sort of "sneak" up on people....have startled some of them. Now I ring the bell, they hear me from about 100' away. It's loud enough to get their attention, but not so loud as to frighten them. Good job Amazon and Niagara Cycle Works. Good price too!

It's humanly Impossible to ring this bell without smiling.
This is a solidly constructed bike bell. This will grab the attention of people jogging on the trail you're riding on. I have also noticed that even people with headphones on can hear this bell. The tone it emits is very pleasantly tuned. I find the people I warn on my approach are much more receiving of the nostalgic sound than yelling "Rider on the left". I no longer get shown the middle finger or get disparaging remarks when out riding my bike. This really changed my perception of the joggers on the multi-use trails as I get all smiles now.

Nice looking brass bell-sound could be better
Good quality brass bell that easily attaches to bike handlebars.Much better attachement than some modern ones that only a plastic belt.Sound is a bit harsh for me. I like a more gentle ding a ring a ring sound. rather than just a RING sound.

Four Stars
Great bell, nice trad sound, loud and clear. (Edit- Four stars originally, now down to 2- 2 years in, mine fell apart. I guess you get what you pay for. Next time I'll buy a better bell)

Loud and clear
Bell is very clear and loud. For the price it's fine, you might be able to find cheaper ones, but taken with prime shipping you can't complain about much here.
