Great wallet -- but not minimalist
This is a great wallet -- but it's not minimalist by any measure except that it minimizes the number of items I can carry in it. The size and weight, which is most important to me in a minimalist design -- are actually greater than the traditional bi-fold leather wallet I was carrying - with more items in it.I've been carrying this for just over 2 weeks now.First, the pros.- I love the look and feel of the wallet. The leather has a soft, natural feel to it. I got the Mississippi Mud. The metal insert with textured sides, in contrast with the soft leather, provides a tactile playground when handling the wallet. It's fun to hold in the hand. I find myself pulling out of my pocket to play with it -- almost like you would a fidget spinner. Weird? Maybe.- The pull tab works great. I currently hold 3 credit cards (2 embossed, 1 plain) in this section. It was difficult to pull the tab originally (and even more difficult to push the cards back in), but that has loosened up nicely to the point that it has an appropriate amount of resistance, but slides out (and back in) with ease. I have one more credit card that I would really like to be able to carry in this wallet, but adding a 4th card makes it extremely difficult to get the cards out or put them back in. I might try it for a few days to see if the leather stretches enough to make this easier.- I only carry my driver's license and HID Proxy Card (parking lot access card) in the front section. The parking access card is thick, but it is still easy to remove my driver's licenses using my thumb to push it up through the openening in the front of the wallet. The parking access card works while still in the wallet, so I question the amount of RFID protection offered by this wallet.- I don't usually carry much cash, but this is one of the features I really liked about this wallet compared to other "minimalist" wallets. Many of the others didn't have a solution to carry cash or, if they did, it was by adding a bulky clip to the back of the wallet. The most I've had in this wallet is 4 bills, folded into 4ths. They slide in an out of the cash pocket fairly easily, although it can be tight, depending on the number of cards you're carrying in the pull tab section. For example, I just added a 4th credit card to the pull tab section and that makes the cash pocket that much tighter. It's still easy to pull the bills out, but putting the bills back in is difficult because the paper doesn't have the rigidity to stand up to the pressure of pushing it into a tight pocket. It's actually more difficult to push a single bill in than it is to push 3 - 4 bills in (because of the added rigidity acheived with more bills). And the cons:- The size. Although it's not huge, I don't know how this could be called a minimalist wallet. I was carrying a traditional leather bi-fold wallet and the dimensions are nearly identical. You can see the description for the actual measurements, but also take a look at my pictures to see the comparison of this wallet to my old wallet. There is very little difference and, actually, because of the metal insert in the Trayvax, it has absolutely no give, while the old wallet would conform to the contents within and the shape of your body/pocket that it was in.-The weight. As much as I like the look and feel of the metal insert, the additional weight it adds is probably the largest downside to this wallet. The additional weight is especially noticeable when carrying the wallet in dress pants. My old wallet was 3.45 oz full (with 5 cc's, 4 store cards, driver's license, parking garage access card, 5 paper insurance cards, and 4 U.S. bills). The Ascent weighs 3.35 oz empty. When I added my, now reduced, contents (3 cc's, driver's license, parking garage access card, and 4 U.S. bills), it weighs in at 4.40 oz. It weighs almost 1 oz more -- with substantially less in contents.- The metal edge. Again, I really like the look and feel of the metal insert, but I have to be careful when I lay the wallet down on my dresser or dining room table etc. If you casually drop the wallet on a wood surface, this would easily leave a scratch or dent. I'm also nervous about flying with this. I've seen reviews indicating that individuals have experienced TSA letting this through. I fly 1 or 2 times a month and I see the inconsistent nature of TSA agents. I don't know if I'll take a chance with this being confiscated. I could see an overly-cautious agent seeing this as an item that could be used as a blunt force weapon and the problem is, once they've made that determination in their mind, there isn't any amount of logical discussion that will change it -- it's being confiscated. In closing, I love this wallet as a replacement for my worn out bi-fold wallet, but be aware of the size and weight observations I've made above. In my opinion, this has no room to be called a minimalist wallet, unless you're used to carrying a George Costanze wallet.

Last wallet you’ll ever need
I currently have 4 cards in the front section and two more cards in the back plus my license. The strap makes it very easy to retrieve the cards you use most often. The 4 cards in the front are harder to retrieve but I think that once the leather breaks they’ll be a little easier. I’ve had up to 4 bills in the cash slot with no problem. The craftsmanship is top notch and I love the combination of brass rivets stainless spine and leather outer. The pull up on the leather is fantastic. This wallet will only look better with age. It has a nice heft to it thanks to the stainless but is nice and slim for a front pocket carry. Pick up this wallet or any other from Trayvax and you will not be disappointed.

Great wallet just no good place for cash.
The wallet is perfect. It's slim, It fits everything that I need on a daily basis: 3forms of ID 2-3 debit or credit cards and a few business cards all that will fit with ease, I just recommend buying a money clip to attach to the wallet if you carry money on yourself usually.

Looks like we might have a winner.
So here's the deal... I've purchased probably 6-8 low profile wallets within the last 2 years. Everything from leather to Carbon fiber. High priced to cheap junk. I've only had this trayvax for a week but it keeps getting better with age. Still to early to give a full review but so far so good. When you first get it, it's tight. I mean real tight. Couldn't hold more than 3 cards. Now I have 6 and the leather is starting to stretch a bit. Quality is amazing, I mean seriously good leather, great stitching, solid build and great design. Feels great in my back pocket. The only negative is that I wish it held a few more cards but I knew it only held 6 when I purchased it. It's a true minimalist wallet:Drivers license, gun license, 2 PBA cards and 2 credit cards. For me... I don't need anything else. I would highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for a leather pc that has amazing quality.

Good product, less than stellar service
We bought this wallet for my father-in-law for father's day, and he absolutely loves it! He's even mentioned that he might buy another just as a backup in case anything should ever happen to his current one because he likes it that much. The reason I am only giving this four stars and not five is because I also ordered one for my husband, and we were sent the wrong product. When going to return it, there was no way to exchange the wrong product for the right one easily. I had originally ordered the wallet for my husband on a discount, and now, in order to get the correct product, I am being asked to pay full price. The return/exchange system is set up very poorly for situations like this, so for that reason I feel I cannot give a five-star review, which really is a shame because the wallet itself is a very good product.

This is the perfect minimalist wallet
This is the perfect minimalist wallet. It is exceptionally well made. The metal is an excellent support for the leather. The leather is a high quality leather and is stitched very well. When you first get this wallet, it is very, very stiff, but if you soak it with the cards you want to fit in it, the wallet stretches out exceptionally well. After soaking in water for 10 minutes, I let it hang dry on its own. After 4 hour, i inserted 1 additional card and some cash and left the wallet to fully dry over the next day and a half on its own. To my surprise, The wallet formed perfectly and upon removing the extra card, allowed me to fit my bills in without slippage. I currently hold 5 cards in the pull tab pocket and another 4 cards in the thumb slide pocket with emergency cash hidden between some cards, as well as quick access cash in the cash slot. After all. This is a minimalist wallet. My cards slide in and out both pockets without a hiccup. The wallet can also be used as a defensive tool, should the need arise. I"ll leave that to your imagination.Excellent purchase. Not bulky at all, and not at all heavy in the pocket. Definitely recommend.Trayvax. You would get 5 stars, for this wallet, but we want the TRAYVAX LINK LANYARD BACK PLEASE!!!!!!!!!! and thank you :)
