Professional Hair Cutting Scissors Barber Shears Set Hair Thinning Kit with Black Storage Case

Let me preface my review with this statement: Neither my wife nor myself are professional stylists or anything of the sort. My wife is great but since these are used about 5 times a month, I am reviewing these from a DIY home stylist perspective (essentially, I’ve got no idea as to whether they would hold up in a professional setting; no reason for me to think they would not, just giving my perspective).The container/zipper pouch is nice and does what it needs to do. The “regular” scissors feel great in the hand, are balanced and sharp. They also came with a couple extra rubber pieces to replace the ones that come on them originally (sorry, not sure of the technical name). The scissors cut our hair without pulling and did a WAY better job than the ones that came with an electric clipper bundle.The combs are nice...it’s not easy to distinguish “normal, everyday combs” from eachother; provided they comb...and these do.The other set of scissors are equally nice and have sharp teeth. They work well in feathering and texturing hair.These are nicely made and work for a family with 3 kids. Highly recommended!

I am not a hairdresser, but where I moved to I could not for the life of me find a reasonably priced hairdresser that wasn't a greatclips or something like that. I don't fancy myself a super vain person either, so I decided to get my own shears. I could NOT be happier with this set. First, it comes with a comb and pick, thinning shears, and cutting shears. My hair is very very thick and I need to thin it every few months, along with trimming my bangs and some split ends. These do the job splendidly, and the comb is extremely durable. I cut my hair in a separate bathroom from my normal one, and I don't have extra brushes and combs in it, so I just use the comb the set came with and it hasn't broken yet after about 3 rigorous thinnings.

Let me start by saying that inside and out this is a solid product! First off, the tools come in an organized black zipper case with elastic bands inside to fasten the contents down. It is convenient to not only have everything in a single case, but also to have a place for everything instead of having it loosely bouncing around the inside.Onto the actual product, the scissors and thinning shears themselves are fantastic quality. Solid metal and incredibly sharp! They even have a little weight to them which I prefer. The blue "knob" holding the mechanism together is a threaded screw with a washer inside of it. It is very easy to remove if need be but solid enough to not come apart during performance. The thinning shears especially perform just as you expect they would: the teeth of the comb piece are spaced evenly enough to thin the hair, but not to remove large sections or lengths in one cut. The kit even comes with a black cleaning cloth (similar to what you would wipe your eye glasses or cell phone screen with) and also a black comb as pictured. This makes the kit quite complete and convenient for all being in a single purchase.My only complaint about this product is the small diameter of the finger holes of the instruments. One may argue that I have "sausage digits" and therefore have chubby fingers. The finger holes of the instruments are just a little small to seat perfectly on my hands. A solution however, the blue lining of the finger holes (see the picture) are simply inserts that can be removed easily. By taking these out it opens up more space that may accommodate your fingers with more comfort. This worked fine for me, but may not work as well for customers with XL(?) fingers. I also prefer the smooth metal feel rather than the plastic inserts, but that's just nitty gritty preference.Overall this really is a good product, and for the price you just can't beat it! I recommend this if you are looking to get started with hair cutting, experienced barber/stylist, or if you just want to pretend to be Edward Scissorhands.

Tired of going and spending $20 to get someone to cut my hair and always leave me somewhat unhappy with it. The shears/ thinning scissors are great, but I went a little too much on the right side.... I have used them a half dozen times and have owned them for a little over a week now. Great value and had no problem with the sharpness on either scissors so far. I guess the leather patch is for keeping them sharp and drying them??

Bought this in 2016. I’ve used at least 5-6 times after I found a easy tutorial for self-haircut. Great quality. Very happy I didn’t have to go to a salon especially since covid. 100% recommend this.

I'm not a hairdresser nor have I ever given a haircut before, but these seemed to do the trick for simple haircuts for kids. There were a few times when the scissors didn't take to the fine baby hair and I had to try to cut it again, but otherwise they seem decent. I love the case it comes. Very simple and easy to store.

You know how the church says god made everyone equal? well that is not true if you go to college into the medical field... because asians have no where near the fair follicle count as a white or a black person... BUT the hair they do have is VERY thick... and there has been nothing able to cut my hair but these!Bought this to cut my own hair! I am asian.. and technically asian's dont' have MUCH hair.. but the hair we have is VERY THICK so it looks like we have a full head of hair when we really don't.... I have to admit.. my hair is very hard to cut.. even the barbers are like "damn your hair is thick"

I got this set for cutting my horse's mane and tail, and it's really nice! The scissors are sharp, and the comb lets me get at those little straggler hairs underneath. The cleaning cloth is great too, keeps the scissors from rusting. The long, pointed end of the comb also lets me separate sections of hair for braiding. This is a great little set!
