Roger ToogoodPro/Engineer Wildfire 5.0: Tutorial and Multimedia Cd

I have been using ProEngineer for more than 10 years on a full time basis. I have now purchased four different revisions of this tutorial. Not everything is perfectly clear, and some parts have proven frustrating, but this book provides an excellent foundation to begin 3D modeling. The design approach and explanations provide great understanding. The step by step instruction and design challenges are thorough and very appropriate difficulty levels to teach the reader.It is also highly useful to those who are looking to improve their understanding and proficiency with the ProEngineer system. As a Mechanical Engineer, I keep this and the advanced tutorial on my shelf for reference material, and highly recommend them both to anyone who wants to learn Mechanical Design Software.

So far it's been a great tutorial and having the CD definately helps with understanding how Pro/Endineer works. It did take me awhile to figure out that I needed to download the contents of the CD to my computer in order to take advantage of the sample parts the tutorial takes you through. I'm just learning ProE and this book with CD has been great so far to learn the fundamentals.

This a very easy to follow tutorial which shows you the beginner's steps into ProE/WF5.0The videos on the accompanying CD are just right for the lessons.And the book has some additional material not covered on the CD videos.I recommend it.

This textbook was in great condition. Received it in specified time frame. Very happy with the book. There was no highlighting or writing marks in the book. It was in shrink wrap. Contained the tutorial CD as well.

Pro/Engineer is a difficult software program to learn in general. I know because I have learned many other programs such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Rhino and more. Pro/Engineer is by far the most difficult to get comfortable with but once you get it, it is very powerful and actually pretty easy to use. That being said I cannot place all the blame on this book for making the learning process difficult for me and many of my classmates.My disapproval with this book is based on the density of the text. I find it hard to follow step by step instructions that are written in paragraph form. It just seems like it is written too conversationally, and with too much fluff. When I'm learning a CAD program I want the most important procedures listed step by step, not in long paragraphs that I have to sift through to find what I'm looking for. The book is not all bad, as there are helpful hints hidden throughout. However I cannot recommend this book.

This book is everything I expected, contents and CD. Great reference book for someone who hasn't used Pro for awhile and needs to catch up to the latest version.

It teaches things you don't really need and forgets to show tools that you use a lot. Doesn't show details like which mouse button to use and much more.

It's a good beginners book. Not the most detailed book ever for some of the steps but as long as you are working with someone else or have a TA helping you out everything will be good.

I bought a used copy, and the CD is missing so I cant comment the content on that..
