Safety Storage Concern!!
Hello, I purchased the Gallant epoxy kit in December of 2022. The containers arrived and I stored them in my homes attached un-airconditioned workshop, still in their clear zip lock bag. Now my workshop stays much cooler than outside temperature and I store everything in there, paints cleaners etc. Last month I noticed a yellow pool of Resin on the floor after one of the containers ruptured. Lucky for me it was just the resin and not the harder both, but I still had to throw both of the un-opened un-used containers away due to saturation. Then I spent hours cleaning the mess and repainting the floor. I could not find one reason for this container failure, I don't know if it was a defect or low quality issues with container but thought all should know. $32.25 loss.

Medium viscosity-bubble free!
I saw this resin used by a RESIN artist -jedrej29t - on YouTube and constantly wondered what he did to get his crystal clear resin. Finally after more than a year of watching his videos he mentioned that he used this brand of resin, only recently available in the US. So of course I had to give it a try. Well it is true this resin is crystal clear. I’ve never seen anything like it and I have used too many resins to mention here. It’s a medium viscosity resin. You can thin it out a little bit by placing it in hot water before you use it, put the bottles in hot water not the resin after you’ve mixed it of course. I work in a cold room about 70°, and it cured within 24 hours to a super hard glossy finish and demolded beautifully. I used some mica pigments added some glitter without any problems. I used the heat gun to move things around and I barely had to use the torch to pop a few surface bubbles. This resin does not shrink when it cures. It leaves a nice full mold. It is a little on the expensive side but I intend to continue to experiment with it, use it in more projects and with more additives like a little acrylic paint etc. I hope I’ve given you a good overview of the resin. It truly surprised me it’s a very high-quality resin that degasses on its own I’ve never seen anything like this, but I still have to try stone coat resin so I will leave a review there once I try that. The working time seems to be about 40 minutes. One critical comment, the plastic used for the bottles is very very flimsy. Like those really flimsy water bottles so be careful when handling it because you might have a waterfall when you just wanted a few ounces.

Crystalized hardener
So this is the only epoxy resin i use and have never had any issues with it, but this time around the hardener i received was crystalized and was unable to get it out of the bottle. Other than that i love this resin and always get great results

Defective product
Have been working on resin projects for some time and was looking to switch brands. Unfortunately this resin was a failure. Right off the bat, the resin was frozen in the container and wouldn't come out. After slowly warming it (unmixed, still in bottle) I was able to release the resin and start the mixing process. It looked clear as it started to cure, so I had high hopes. I went to pour the second layer after the proper amount of time and it never cured. It has been sitting for over 3 days and it's still soft and easily moved in the mold. Really disappointed with this product and the money wasted.

Professional Caster, Loving this Epoxy Resin and its Clarity
Since I deal with a lot of resins, I was initially put off because it's unclear if the 1:1 ratio is by volume or by weight, so it took a little bit of research to discover it could be both.. but I get better results by weight.Which brings me into the "under filled" bottles area. These bottles are 16 ounces by WEIGHT not fluid ounce. I think it's super important to note that, and be aware that the plastic bottles the components are in are thinner than what most of us would expect, but that does NOT affect the quality of the resin. The long working time and the thin viscosity make potting - either pressure or vacuum - super easy to deal with. I love this product because of that.I did have fewer bubbles than my other clear resins - epoxy and UVs - but if you're going for the glass look in a pour, you definitely will need a chamber. (That's the nature of the business.)

Big glob
After the 1st use (I used ¼ of the bottle) the hardener turned into this cloudy glob. It became one solid gooey cloudy mix and ever since it doesn't mix right with resin, after it cures its rubbery. I live in Florida where its not that cold at all and I've even put the resin and hardener in warm water thinking it was to cold for it.

Very clear (not yellowish), but thick casting problematic
For putting a thin coating over something, I suspect this product would work great. But if you are doing a deep cast (which the instructions say have to be done in layers of only 6 oz at a time), I was unable to get rid of seams between layers - even after I poured the next layer while the prior was still soft (45 min gap instead of the 3-hr gap from instructions - which causes firm layer lines).

Clarity is Amazing
After watching a ton of epoxy casting videos on YouTube a guy name jedrek29t really impressed me with smaller things, not 500$ pour river tables and he used this stuff so I thought I’d try it and compare it to alumilite they had at hobby lobby. This was my first attempt at epoxy casting and the instructions to both are pretty much the same. They mixed up about they same both get clear when mixed properly. The Gallant seems to win in every category after that. It cures slower so it allows more bubbles to escape without a pressure pot and the clarity isn’t close. I’ve read a lot of bad reviews about the bottles spilling during shipping and mine were definitely sticky on the outside but wasn’t much. In my photo the Subaru is in alumilite the fords in the gallant.
