I thought it was really well written. He takes the time to truly explore all the different ways and reasons people live off grid. The interviews and his experiences painted a true picture of the different conditions involved among mostly beautiful landscapes

After reading this book you come to realize the cost of really wanting to be free from the rest of society. It is informative but not really encouraging.

I like his concept but who can afford to lose water to more hassles like contracting bacteria or storing water an creating mosquitoes instead. Sorry but he didn’t show any solution to an existing problem. He just kept talking about his next books but didn’t conclude an easy clear path with this book.

Was not as informative as need be. Just trying to get you to buy their next books in the series. So buy the 2nd or 3rd book, not the 1st.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and had helped unmeasurable amounts in my need to eventually live off-grid and it has also been heaps of help in my research for my dissertation on off-grid living

Interesting and to the point but just seemed to lack any passion. Of course this may well the intention. But I agree that every little action we make to help nature and the environment and ourselves collectively add up to huge amount.

Gives you the lowdown on going off grid although it is American based. Seems all a bit like hard work but if that kind of thing appeals to you fair enough. Could be more technical talks in general terms

Not quite as good as I thought it would be. There are better books with good illustrations available
