Looking good !!
Bought these in Sept. planted right awayโฆ they took 6 weeks to show up! Theyโre still sprouting shoots as of last week so if u are looking for roots to plant get them ! But bear in mind it WILL take time ! Just keep moist and be patient. They were healthy looking upon arrival and I had about 12 nice sized roots .

Great Stuff!
I use fresh Turmeric everyday in Smoothies and flavored water. I love the anti inflammation properties. It's not easy to find bulk fresh Turmeric in stores but by ordering this product I can freeze it and always have some on hand.

A good medicinal root
I like to use fresh turmeric when making Master Tonic. Local roots are not offered fresh any more, I was very pleased with the freshness and quick delivery, I will be ordering again. Great company to get product from.

Good sizes.
It came in a paper bag inside the plastic mailing bag and the tumeric was wet so the paper bag had torn. You do have to clean it real good cause it did have dirt on it but overall the tumeric was good enacted and I got good sizes. I am not sure how it will be when the weather is hotter from reading other peoples review on ordering during summertime. That is came soft and molded from being hot. So far so good since it is not hot outside.

USPS Choice for Delivery a BAD Idea in Non-Winter Months
I ordered and received this product last November. I was extremely happy. It shipped next day and I received it a few days later. Crisp. Fresh. Perfect order. So I reordered end of May. What a difference the season makes! The problem: Joy of Discovery ships via the USPS. This was fine last time in late November. It was cooler weather back then. Well now its June, and I live in Fresno, and theres a heat wave......Unlike UPS the USPS is much harder to track your orders on line. And it tends to take a bit longer. Joy of Discovery did a fine job, shipping the day after my evening order. However, it did not arrive for at least 6 days. I say "at least" because I was not home that day, nor most of the next. When I did arrive I found in my hot mailbox (damn that switch to one of those security lockable metal gauge mailboxes, but its a different era now) A VERY warm package containing limp roots with softened early blackening edges and slight mold. I trimmed the roots - about 80% still usable. But not the crisp roots I so fondly remembered from last November. My lesson learned - Joy of Discovery is a great company and I WILL order from them again. But only in winter months. The rest of the year I will buy locally at greater expense. I.e. Whole Foods.

Growing and tincturing
I purchased this for its wonderful healing properties. I have arthritis and a connective tissue disorder, so I have a good bit of inflammation and pain. Some of the root pieces were small and shriveled up but for the most part, the roots were all big or decent sized and in good condition. I used most of my roots to make tinctures with, so I could preserve them longer and also to take daily without having to cook it in every meal or make tell constantly. I don't like the taste, but tincture put into capsules is perfect for this! Some of my roots began to bud, so I put those in pots of orchid moss (it's what I had in hand and according to growers, they need moss to grow in) and I have plants coming up. They aren't growing very fast, but that's from my neglect. I've gone in vacations a few times and they've been left unattended... but they aren't dead and I'm home now and they're really taking off. I have just made my second purchase from this seller because the product was great and met my needs. I don't consider the price to be too much because 1 lb yielded me around 40 oz tincture and 6-8 plants growing to put in my garden.

Loved it and I've purchased this a second time
Loved it and I've purchased this a second time. Great warm flavor. I usually use a couple of one inch pieces and dice them in the food processor to make a tea out of turmeric to help with my digestive disorders. This turmeric is very fresh. It leaves a tingling in my mouth, maybe the antiseptic qualities, and I can just feel the healing oils go right to work where they are needed. I've combined it with chamomile and white teas for an even healthier drink. I store it in the fridge, loosely wrapped in paper towel within an opened plastic bag in the crisper and I still have, from my first order that arrived about a month ago, quite a bit left and it is still very flavorful and fresh tasting. I learned this from advice here. I inspect it for mold and there hasn't been any so this is a good way to store. I also pour a little back pepper in the turmeric tea because I've read that black pepper's oils help turmeric's oils better absorb in the body. Recommend this turmeric wholeheartedly!
