Q: Do you use this tape on the inside or outside or both?

I did both inside and outside until I was out of tape, then only one side (on gazebo canvas). Both solutions seems fine so far.

Q: For a canvas split on a sun bed

Its good, but, I dont think it would work as a permanent fix on a sun lounger. Sun loungers are constantly stretching when you move. I used it to temporarily fix a tear in a pergola canopy which has actually lasted since last summer to the present, but the movement is minimal and I applied it to both sides when the canopy was flat on the ground and used a roller to make sure it was free of any air bubbles.

Hello, I'm not sure about that! Maybe if you used a big patch and rubbed it on well, it would stick. Worth a try anyway. Make sure the surface is dry and free from oil and grease. I wiped the surface of my gazebo with methylated spirit and it let dry. That was over 6 months ago and it is still tight. Good luck. JD
