DO NOT BUY
Been having back luck with headsets recently wanted to turn to a more mainstream brand. I had heard corsair had upped their peripheral quality so after looking around for a bit i settled on this. Right out of the box the wire is very VERY short unless you are plugging it into a controller you will definitely need an extension cable, purchased separately of course, but lets not talk about that lets talk about the sound quality. probably the worst sounding headset Ive experienced for this price mic was producing static every time I talked does not catch low base or high treble. pretty bad fit on the head as well.IF YOU ARE READING THIS SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY AND DO NOT BUY

Headset is nice but missing y-splitter.
I just got the headset and unboxed it. First impression of the headset is it sounds good and feels good. I quickly realized it didn't come with a 3.5mm Y-Splitter for the audio and microphone. As a PC gamer this is a major component that's needed. As of right now my PC doesn't recognize the microphone at all because I don't have the y-splitter. I am considering returning this item. Not because it's faulty but I didn't receive the y-splitter rendering the headset useless in this setup.

Best Bang-For-Your-Buck Headset On the Market?
I recently purchased the headset on sale on black friday for $30. Now, at first I thought this was going to be another headset that would break in the next 2 weeks, but so far I am extremely impressedSound Quality:I would give the sound quality a solid 4 out of 5, because of the bass it lacks. The mids and highs during gaming are excellent, but sometimes hearing grenades and footsteps can be tough, which is bit frustrating. Then again, remember that I only paid 30 dollars for this headset, so having bass as the only sound issue is actually quite impressiveBuild Quality:I would also give the build quality a 4 out of 5, since the headset is mainly made out of plastic, with lack of premium metals and leather ear-cups. Although the ear cups are a micro-mesh feeling, I actually don't find them as uncomfortable as you'd expect them to be. They feel tight with glasses on, and my ears also do not sweat, which is actually quite nice.Mic Quality:I'd say the mic quality is exceptional. It's not something you'd find on a blue yeti or a professional system, but it works perfectly for late night party chatsOverall, I am really enjoying this headset, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a name brand headset under $35, and is willing to risk bass and some build quality for that price point!

Really disappointed in Corsair
This was an ok headset while it worked. I got it in late May and used it on my gaming PC. By the end of August, the left ear was cutting out. I initiated a warranty request. They had me send a copy of my receipt and a picture of the serial number via email. Then they sent me an email telling me I would have to send the headset back in, at my expense, they would determine if it was in fact covered under warranty, then they would send a replacement. So they are asking me to spend $10 - $15 plus packing material to send back a $50 headset that's faulty and, oh yeah, you'll be without a headset for at least a month so you'll need to buy something else anyway. The least they could have done was to send me a new headset with a return shipping label and had me drop the old headset in the box when the new one arrived. The whole experience put a bad taste in my mouth and I just ended up buying a Logitech. I've always been impressed with their products and service and will steer clear of Corsair in the future.

Blue ones don't come with a splitter
The only color that comes with one is the black. Wish there was a warning before I purchased.

Decent for gaming
These headsets are actually pretty good for the price. The bad reviews that I've seen are mostly complaining about missing the splitter, which isn't Corsair's fault that the consumer isn't capable of reading which model is specifically for PC and Amazon clearly states this on each model. The headset itself feels somewhat cheaply made, but again, they are entry level. If you take care of them they will last. Sound quality is actually pretty good, again, for the price point. They aren't 7.1 surround sound, but if you really require surround sound you probably won't be using headphones to begin with. I've been using these when playing Modern Warfare and they sound great. I'm not sure that even having 7.1 headphones would make a difference. Having a microphone that is removable is convenient for me, since I generally only use it when playing with friends. I tend to not use it so much unless the team I'm playing with is receptive to teamwork and communication. The mic itself from what I'm told is decent enough. I think really it comes down to playing with the settings to fine tune threshold and volume. Again, for the price, these are actually very good headphones. The cord is plenty long for PC, dare I say too long. If you just bundle the excess and leave yourself a little wiggle room you'll be good to go. I was hesitant to buy an entry level headset, but after using these a little over a month, I can't justify buying over priced ones. If I were to buy another or more expensive set, it would be a wireless model. Oh, and as far as comfort, they do well after a couple of hours. They are light enough that they don't weigh down on your head. Overall a good set for the money. There are a few things to be desired, hence the 4 star rating. But overall they are worth the 30 bucks.

Didn't come with a 3.5mm Y-Splitter for the audio and microphone
Apparently only the black colored version comes with a 3.5mm Y-Splitter for the audio and microphone? I purchased the "red" color and it was missing making it unusable on a PC.

Funciona

An initial review that I will update
I connected this headset to my work laptop and it was recognised straight away. I went into the sound settings to make sure Windows used the headset for both input and output.I put the headset on and adjusted it for comfort. Very comfortable IMHO. I then watched a couple of video news clips: the sound was excellent. Being closed back, they isolate extraneous noise very well. However, when I used Voice Recorder to test the microphone, the recorded levels seemed far lower than expected.I need to do some further testing but, for now, the microphone seems to be this item's weakness.04/07/2021: RTFM! I had plugged this into a USB 1.0 extension (provided by my employer). This headset has to be plugged directly into a USB 2.0 port of a laptop/PC.Headset now works fine. I did a couple of test calls with a colleague: he was impressed by the clarity of the mic and the sound quality at my end was excellent too.

great overall!
The only area it really falls down in design-wise is in how it handles microphone placement. You see, rather than act on a swivel which can be flicked up or down depending on if you need it, the thing is detachable. As such, it must be inserted into the left earcup any time you want to hop on party chat, unless you always opt to always keep it in. It connects well enough and features a flexible arm, but I’d have much preferred it being built into the unit, rather than coming as an added piece always at risk of being lost. Still, it’s not a deal-breaker.overall, if you’re looking for an affordable over-ear gaming headset that provides decent sound, apt comfort, with just a splash of elegant style thrown in then you can’t get much better than the Corsair HS35. It’s a budget headset disguised as a more premium product, still managing to focus on the areas of audio that matter. This should suffice so long as you can live without any special extras like the ability to toggle the sound mix between in-game and party chat audio. Outside of this, its memory foam headband and ear-cups add a nice finish to a very solid headset!

Mic is awful
Sound is fine, a bit echoey and not as good in quality but the mic is awful. It took ages to figure out why it wasn't working, and when it finally worked it was cutting out and static. Not worth the hassle.

Absolutely Terrible
These look nice and fit well, and the sound in the headset is fine, but the mic barely even works. I tweaked as many settings as I could and it just sounded so bad and so low volume. Don't waste your money on this.
