This is a great beginning microscope for kids! It’s inexpensive and lightweight and is basic to function. My kids enjoyed looking at a strand of hair, a piece of a leaf, carpet fuzz, etc. This is a good starter set for a young child to play and experiment with.

Microscope is very useful for kids to learn . My son is curious about learning new things by observation. So thought of gifting this.1. This microscope is very light in weight. I initially thought it's a toy. But its a working model.2. Very easy to operate and very tiny as well.3. They have included everything needed to get started right after the product's unboxing. Spicemen glasses, one speciman for observation, collection bottles and box and a forecep.4. The speciman glass is held tight using a clips under the scope lens. It holds the glass tight.5. Scope can be zoomed and out.6. Three meginfications available 100, 200 & 400 x. Rotary dial is easily operable.7. There is a supporting bottom light as well which enhances speciman view and clarity from the bottom whose hieght and distance to speciman can be adjusted as well.Cons:1. Too light. It may break on rough handling.2. Should have included the AA batteries for light.Overall it's a comprehensive microscope package which is a great gift to kids this holiday season at a very affordable price.

Nice microscope for kids. This microscope is easy to use and great for kids. It's well built and has nice quality parts. The microscope itself has a 1200x which is pretty good to check out some things at close up range. Comes with a sample slide so you can check out the microscope right out of the box. Pretty nice for kids who are interested in science or want to explore their world a bit more.

I bought this for my nephew, he loved it, I thought it was good for learning but was a little bit cheaply made and should include more premade slides. He will be able to get more specimen to check out this spring.

My grandson is picking up everything in the house to our under the microscope. He loves it so much.

The entire thing is cheap plastic. Even though my grandchildren are careful and would be using this for school work, it could easily be broken. Really cheaply made. I am returning it.
