Great counter weight
In the photo I am holding up my mic tripod with the counter weight and a 2 pound mic at the end of the boom. Perfectly balanced.

Did the job
Worked fine on my EQ6 R Pro. it was a bit too wide but that was my fault for not looking at the measurements.

Heavy Beast
Nothing special, just a solid weight that holds on to a mike size pole. I was using it to counter balance my heavy retro mic but got tired of the mic blocking my face. Just note, it is every bit of that 6 lbs as advertised. So, make sure you actually want a counter balance this heavy before you buy.

Great for my use.
Con: The finish gets "burnished" or somewhat rubbed off in shipping and handling. They're relatively heavy! Don't drop on on your toe, eh?Pro: I use this boom counterweight with relatively small and lightweight round based mike stand vertical shafts in order to overcome the tipping propensity when I add the weight of a boom, microphone and cable. This allows me to use a cheap, lightweight, small base mic. stand in many ways. This also saves a LOT of floor-space when setting up a band ... in a garage or other small venue. Also great for miking overheads for Drum Kits where floor space can be at a premium.

Well-designed counterweight
This simple, straightforward product is perfect in every way: it's a well-formed solid hunk of metal with an attractive matte black finish (which may be powder-coat). It weighs exactly six pounds. The edges have been chamfered so they are not sharp. Here's some additional information not given by the product description: The set screw threads are 6-1.0 metric. There is a nylon insert in the end of the set screw so it won't scratch the boom it is clamped on. The slot is actually narrower than the round hole that is at the bottom of the slot, so you can poke a boom through the hole endways that is larger than the largest boom you can slip the weight over sideways. The max diameters are; endways - 0.925" = 2.35 cm; sideways - 0.882" = 2.24 cm.

Works great on a Celestron AVX Mount with a very small OTA or Camera!
Use this instead of the OEM 11lb counter weight on the AVX mount -when using the small (SV48) OTA.If I use the 11Lb it is right up against the mount and a real hassle. This little weight balances well at the end and is easier to work with as well!Works for small OTAs (not my C8! :-))Recommended!

Good counterweight, the rubber head for the screw is a little small and collapses easily.
Nothing wrong with the build of the counterweight besides the fact that the clear rubber head for the screw is very small and collapses easily. The rubber seal is literally only 1 or 2 millimeters thick and about 4 millimeters in diameter. After using it just twice, I could see the rubber head was compressing and shearing at an angle. They need to either make the head/screw bigger or use a stronger rubber material. It is 6lbs as stated.

Great for Telescopes
This is a great option for telescope counterweights, especially if you're using a lighter refractor and need the weight close to the mount without hitting the mount. It's also just the right amount for use with larger SCTs and the included 11/12 lb counterweight.

These work pretty well
I used these on booms and let them sit for an hour and a half with AT4040's on them. There was no motion at all. I used them on the counter weight of the boom not the pipe and there was no slippage. They are doing the job I bought them for by letting me extend the boom all the way out without the boom drooping down. more sturdy They also may the stand as well. These stands got a bad wrap but worked well for me
