Goodbye tangles & knots! Goodbye breakage & hair loss! Goodbye yanking hair & hurting your scalp! This is a game changer for curly haired girls like myself (and all types of hair for that matter!)...it cut detangling time from 30+min, sometimes an hour, to just minutes!!!! I didn't know what to expect but I really underestimated this brush!!! I have 3A curls, super fine, high porosity, color treated, EASILY TANGLED hair down to the middle of my back when straightened out. My hair tangles so easily & horribly...I've literally cut off all my hair myself, I mean ALL my hair, due to unmanageable matting & tangling that I just couldn't handle so when I say I've tried just about everything on the market in my 40yrs of dealing w/ my hair I'm not exaggerating! Anyway, I was really torn between this kind & another newer style with circular open back & bristles with balls at the ends & ultimately I liked that this one does not have the balled tipped bristles (which makes cleaning easier & no balls breaking off bristles) and the fact that this one comes with the brace to either have extremely flexible brush or 2 more levels of sturdier/stiffer flexibility - ultimately, not knowing how this super flexible idea would work I figured having the ability to adjust the flexibility is probably most important! And I'm so glad I chose this one. First of all the quality is nice, it's not cheap plastic feel, it has a nice feel to it - not too heavy but not flimsy either. The handle has a nice rubberized grip to it for use in the shower/ w/ slippery conditioning/detangling products on your hands! The straight (non-ball tipped) bristles make it much easier to clean without having to worry about hair or buildup wrapping around the ends & no annoying balls breaking off! The first brush vertically thru my hair I could feel the difference! No yanking or pulling, no pain on my scalp, and FAR LESS hair pulled out! I mean 1/10 of normal amount! Normally I'm cleaning clumps and clumps of hair out of my brush after brushing thru my knots and this was just a fraction of that and that was while it was dry - I can imagine it will be even better with wet conditioned hair. It brushed thru my tangles with such ease I had to keep checking that it was really actually detangling not just flossing over them like so many others! It has my hair knot free in minutes when usually it is at least a 30min project - sometimes an hour! After detangling, I used it horizontally to brush normally and it felt great. The brace is easy to snap on 2 different levels if needed for a less flexible brush but I did not need it - but it is a great option to have when needed. I've always used a pick for styling my curls, wide tooth comb for shower/conditioning, and a "detangling" brush for detangling on wash days but this brush will honestly replace the comb and brush AND it feels like it may even b able to work for styling too! It's almost a brush, comb and pick all in 1! To not yank or pull, massively reduce breakage & hair loss, and not cause frizz, protecting curl pattern while detangling this thing is seriously genius! I don't know about other brands but this Tressfully Yours is the real deal!! If u have curly or kinky hair YOU NEED THIS! Wavy & straight girls can definitely benefit as well if ur looking for a detangling brush!

Update on my initial review...I initially gave 4 stars just because I was missing the clip that was supposed to come with the brush, but the costumer service reached out to me right away and sent me another very quickly. I thought that was amazing so being that I can costumer service was awesome, and the product itself is great, I definitely had to give the 5 starts they deserve. See initial review below.So far I really do like this brush. Between me and my 2 daughters we have different curl patterns and this works great for all of us. I am more 2C, one of my daughters is a 3B, and the other is a 4A; she's clearly the one I struggle with the most, and she is also the most tender headed. This brush has been great to get the tangles out without being so harsh and damaging her hair because of how flexible it is. I have another brush that is similar to this one that I bought prior to finding this one and it is no where near as flexible and the handle of that brush actually hurts your hand. This one is well designed with an ergonomic handle that makes the brush easy and comfortable to hold. I didn't realize just how important that was until I used that other brush. The only reason that I gave this brush 4 stars instead of 5 is because it said it was supposed to come with some clip thing that can go on the back or the brush if you don't want it to be as flexible (I suppose) but it wasn't included in my package. Apart from that very minor thing, I will say I have been enjoying this brush a lot. I have given the other one away.

The media could not be loaded.  Hands down the best for whatever you want to use it for. I used to use a wide tooth comb for detangling, but it always snatches my hair, my daughters hair, and my youngest daughter hates it no matter how moist her hair is during the process and no matter how gentle I was, there was always a struggle and a fight when combing her hair. She has waist length, fairly thick hair and she is the most tender-headed person I know lol she has 3a/3b hair and I have 3b hair. Baby when I tell you this takes the detangle time WAY down for both of us. It literally doesn’t snatch or pull, there’s no more fighting her hair, no struggle from her, it glides right thru and makes brushing the roots feel so good, like a tiny massage. It opens when going down the shaft of the hair to keep from snatching and pulling your hair and then reverts back. This is exactly what black hair needs honey, whether you’re a vet at hair care or a complete newbie, this gotta be on your “to get” list if you want to contribute to your hair care journey.

As I know salons are slowly opening up due to the pandemic, I decided to take the plunge & wash my own hair. My hair dresser is older and I want to keep her safe. I could not hold out any longer to wait until next month. All I know is, this is a quality brush to de-tangle my wet hair as I am going through my cleaning regimen. Better than a wide tooth comb, which was what I used to use. It is so flexible and conforms along with my hair pattern in order to get the knots out. The bonus is that I do not have a lot of hair left over on the brush in comparison to when I use the large tooth comb (no matter how gentle I am). There is less breakage and I have type 4 hair. I have to basically force the wide tooth comb through. I bought this strictly on reviews and photos. Could not be happier with this product.
