Does the job
It kept my should immobile. But you may need help to get in or out of it.

Totally unsuitable for a Rotator Cuff injury!
I purchased this to help support my shoulder whilst sleeping having just had a tendon reattached to my rotator cuff. However, the horizontal support strap did not remain in place whilst sleeping, it worked loose leaving my arm and shoulder unsupported. It could easily have slipped off the bed causing further injury possibly completely undoing the repair.

“Forget its existence”? Not likely!
I was starting to get neck pain from using the NHS foam sling provided after rotator cuff surgery and this looked like a good option for support. I have kept it as the issues I have with it were relatively minor compared with the relief from neck pain and I only required use of it for a few weeks - any longer and it would definitely have been returned because there are numerous issues.Firstly, either the labels to show the correct side of the sling or the straps themselves have been put on incorrectly (see photos) - it is impossible to fasten the straps so the “outside” is actually on the outside. As it was not clear from the literature accompanying the sling which was the correct way round, I contacted the seller about it. That was 3 weeks ago and I have still not received a response - so much for them valuing all customer views and contacting them for the best solution if unsatisfied! (I have since noticed that they state in the product description that the pocket should be against the body. I don’t believe the description mentioned this when I purchased the sling, but I could be mistaken)Fit-wise it comes up large, I’d recommend getting a size down from what the size guide tells you in order to get a good fit. I am right on the upper end of the measurements for the medium which I purchased and I could have done with all the straps being a good 3-6 inches shorter. If you don’t intend to wear the chest strap then don’t bother with this sling. I technically didn’t need it as that level of stabilisation wasn’t required for my shoulder, but without it the other straps both slide - the one which looped around nearest my hand was the worst and had to be constantly readjusted as it regularly slipped off completely, sometimes rather jarringly; not something you want when you’re supposed to be keeping an arm immobilised! The elbow one did also slip off but this didn’t happen with as much frequency as the hand end. It is possible that having shorter straps might make a difference with this but I am highly doubtful given the design.Wearing the chest strap eliminates the strap slip, but it does mean you get rather warm under it which makes wearing for more than a couple of hours/sleeping in it quite sweaty and uncomfortable. I suspect it would be practically unbearable if wearing this during hot weather.Putting it on is not particularly easy unless you have assistance. It is doable unaided, but it’s a faff and relies on the strap Velcro staying attached to the sling material (as opposed to the other end of the Velcro) while you get the sling situated; something it doesn’t do particularly well. Once it’s on it is reasonably easy to adjust the straps yourself. The “sweet and practical” storage pocket is virtually useless! Because it’s on the inside (apparently by design) it’s tricky to get things in and out - I could manage to have my iPhone vertically in it, but if it dropped down to a horizontal position it was a major excavation effort to retrieve it. Also, when wearing the chest strap anything in the pocket is pressed against your body so anything other than flat items are extremely uncomfortable, and even the iPhone created pressure points after a relatively short period. I’m not sure if the comfort level would be improved with the pocket on the outside, but it certainly would help with the accessibility. The actually quality of the materials and the finish (notwithstanding the whole strap/label confusion) is good, but with the strap slip issues/the heat generated by wearing the chest strap you certainly won’t “forget its existence with wearing it”.

Better than basic NHS issue
Used for my arm that has been broken in 4 places at the top of the humerus.I wasn't sure it would work as I thought the straps may cause further discomfort as they rest on the shoulders, rather than around the neck, as the basic collar and cuff NHS sling provided does. However I needed have worried as the straps cross over at the back so the main strain ends up close to the neck and did not cause any additional pain. Plus it means the pressure is taken off my neck which was beginning to take its toll. The large band was the main reason why I bought the sling as it helps to stabilise my broken arm instead of it hanging free, as it does with the very basic NHS sling. I can't have it too tight due to pain but it's tight enough to feel protective and useful. Its comfortable, warm and secure and I can sleep with it attached.Another advantage is that my lower arm height is adjustable using the straps and pouch, whereas the NHS sling is fixed. I find this useful in order to alleviate the pain as it allows me to support my lower arm in various positions.I still interchange both this sling and the NHS sling as both have their merits, but I now use this one the mostOverall I am very pleased with it, especially as I know I will be using it for quite some time. due to the severity of the break. One thing I would say, do not expect it to look so neatly aligned as in the photographs as the lower arm may need to be at a more acute angle, rather the right angle in the images. However this does not detract from its effectiveness and comfort - it just means it may not be as aesthetically pleasing as in the photos.Well worth the money, just wish I'd bought it weeks ago, rather than waiting 4 weeks after the accident. If I had, it could have saved me a lot of pain and discomfort and probably afforded me a better sleep. Would definitely recommend based on my experience.

Works well but it was filthy!
Pros: it holds my arm and shoulder comfortably still and in a good position. I could wear this all night easily. Unless you're really in a lot of pain you could probably get the sling on alone, but the belt would be more tricky. It seems well made and the material is quite nice to the touch. It doesnt strain the neck.Cons: The one I received was obviously a return. It was filthy. For the price I paid for this I would have expected a hygienic, new one. The stickers on the contraption to help you figure out how to set it up are on the wrong sides. The different sizes seem only to be for the belt that wraps round you to hold your arm still. I'm 5'1 and the straps that go over the shoulders are far, far too long. I could almost have wrapped them round me twice. Its handwash only. In summary I would probably keep it if it wasn't so dirty.

Great - used for broken shoulder
After being sent home from my local hospital with a flimsy strap sling, I was recommended this product for my broken shoulder.Much much better! My displaced humeral fracture was much more supported and wasn't moving about like it did with the hospital sling and comfort increased in order to be able to try and sleep. Used this to travel from UK to Italy for surgery. The body strap did become bunched up after a couple of weeks use but it still did the job.

Excellent product
Because the arm is strapped close to the body it became uncomfortable at night in bed due to heat.

Best in class
Used this for my wife when she broke her shoulder, absolutely brilliant, offers great support and pinned the arm to the body with the wrap-around body strap with velcro.
