On my second pair!
So this is actually my second pair of HyperX Cloud II headsets that I've owned. The first pair (Pink & White) were a gift from my boyfriend nearly a year ago. Recently they had stopped working properly so I've just ordered myself a second pair. I thought it was time I finally posted my review after having owned this product for as long as I have. Now, suffice it to say I use my headset a lot. I do everything in my home and on my computer from work to play and I spend a great deal of time wearing my headset, as I even sleep in it while listening to music etc. I would estimate the time I've worn my headset physically on my head to be around 7,000 hours. So while It's only been just a year since I bought it, it's been used a great deal in that time, so: Pros: - Very durable product, not cheaply/flimsily made. Has suffered nearly 7,000 hours with me. - Exceptionally comfortable (At least from a female point of view it is. I even sleep in this headset.) - Aesthetically pleasing. This headset is made with top notch materials and the headband is stitched. On the pink and white version this is really cute. - A nice long cord so it's usable with a huge variety of setups. - Great customer service by Kingston, who makes the headset. Only a month before ordering my new pair they sent me a free replacement USB dongle when mine broke at my request. - Great sound for the average consumer. These are hardly for audiophiles, but if you want a headset that can get as loud as you need it to or can be toned down to be quieter this is certainly a great option. The reason I opted for these over other pairs I was considering is because of the excellent volume control. If you're a bit hard of hearing this is a great headset. - May not be audiophile quality, but the sound is excellent for the average user. Most users should see an improvement from most headsets in the same price range when moving to this one. - Excellent Microphone quality. As a PC gamer who spends most of her time on MOBAS or raiding in various games, having a good quality mic for calls is a must-have. I have other headsets laying around that I used when my other HXC2's broke and literally everyone noted a significant depreciation in mic quality from each head set compared to much current one. - The surround sound is great compared to some of the Logitech surround sound I've used that requires shitty software that sometimes doesn't even function properly. (Sorry logitech I love you) Cons: - I personally feel $97 was a great price for this headset, but I know this may be out of the park price wise for more casual gamers or anyone looking for just a standard headset to chat with. - While I personally like the surround sound and appreciate not having the software - it does mean that the surround sound is mostly a "one size fits all" concept and you can't personalize it at all, which for some people may be a deal breaker. With that in mind, you can swap the SS off with a button press. If you're in it 100% solely for the surround sound this may not be the most ideal pick for you. - The white version will obviously become "dingy" over time, especially the ear pads. However the box does come with a set of ear pads with a plush texture. But if you prefer the default ones then this might be a no-go. So all in all I would (and do) recommend these to friends. I usually go through a couple of headsets a year and I've owned Turtle Beaches, Astros, Logitechs (wireless and wired, high end and low end), among many other brands, and these are the only ones I've owned more than one pair of.

Great Headset! HyperX Customer Support the cherry on top (7/19 edit)
The usb control box stopped working during the 6-7 month period, the headset condition is optimal (Since I take good care of my electronics) I was watching a stream and suddenly the headset was not recognized anymore, checked my ports and worked in other devices, also proceeded to scan for devices and restart the computer and the headset was still faulty. The only way it works is with the 3.5mm entrance which I dislike (First reason I bought an usb one) Contacted HyperX support and the Customer service (Glenn ********** /Hyperx Support Team ) just told me to use the 3.5mm entrance (Unless he just wanted me to test it out like that, but that was not specified) since I attached picture of purchase proof and date I felt that the response was not ideal, I mean I'm paying a good quantity of money I expect my headset to last more, not only 6-7 months and with full features, stated that the problem was from the USB part to the control box I don't feel like I need to force myself to quit the 7.1 virtual surround and the commodity of using the USB port. Overall if you are in the market for a comfortable headset this is a good option, however this "option" will not last much (At least using the USB port) since the control box sometimes (hopefully) comes faulty. Body Edit #1 (7/19) : Forget about the problems, and focus about the positive features it offers, since the customer support will be there to help you in the negatives. Pre-USB Control Problem : 9.8/10 +Comfortable +Ease to connect/adaptability +Great Mic/ Virtual 7.1 to use on some media players Post-USB Control Problem: 4/10 +Comfortable -Only works on 3.5mm -Virtual 7.1 not working -Mic not easy to set after the 3.5mm lock-down Post-USB Control Problem and After replacement sent: 10/10 (7/19/2016) +Comfortable +Ease to connect/adaptability +Great Mic/ Virtual 7.1 to use on some media players +Great Customer Support/Warranty Edit#1: I've being contacted again , this time was noted that I may get a replacement part (7/12) Edit#2: It seems HyperX really cares about their customers, the faulty part which was defective by their end was replaced and now my headset is working again without expenses. I love the white and pink version!
I LOVE my headset, it's perfect. One thing though: If you are playing on the PS4, you'll need to plug the headphones into the included USB extension and then into the actual PS4 if you want to be able to mute your mic. Otherwise, if you just plug the straight headset into the PS4 controller, there is no way to control the mic/volume. The headset comes very well wrapped, includes a mesh bag to house it for travel, and does include a few small, easily lost pieces. The headset fits entirely around my ears, and does a really good job blocking out outside sounds (almost a problem!). I prefer the faux leather ear muffs to the fuzzy ones, maybe I'll change my mind in the winter. Overall it is very light, sound quality is very crisp and wonderful- I've heard from friends that my microphone is also very crisp. I use this primarily for gaming, but I think this headset would be ideal for noise-cancelling/listening to music on an airplane or something. For me- it was definitely worth the price. Very high quality and I expect it to last a long time. Edit: I had someone ask so here: The cord in total is about 320 cm (10'8"), on that the mute controls are about 110cm (3'7") from the headphones themselves. It's very very long in my opinion! I'm going to try to add another picture.

I purchased these to replace my 7 year old headphones. But i wanted something that could be my show movie and music headphones and work as a gaming headset as well. these fit that perfectly the sound quality is superb in both 7.1 and normal modes for all genres of music and all types of shows and movies. The mike is crisp and clear for game chat or streaming and or recording video content. Solid build quailty and supreme comfort feels like pillows on my head. The only negative i can levy at these headphones is the lack of a detachable cable so if the cord fails in future i can replace it as need be other than that near perfect. Would recommend to anyone

I have never really been a fan of gaming headsets, a lot of them have inferior sound compared to standard open back headphones and low build quality. That is not the case with this headset. SOUND: The sound of this headset is quite simply amazing. The sound card does a great job of producing high quality audio, surprising for a budget optimized card. In games, the 7.1 virtual surround sound jumps out and creates an immersive experience. When listening to music, the bass stands out, but doesn't drain out the treble or distort anywhere near as much as other gaming headsets. With an EQ, these headphones show their true potential. However, the sound card has a well known issue, which I experience not too often. When listening to some music, I notice that the bass can crackle / pop slightly. I never really notice this and you have to listen closely to really notice it. Others experience it worse, but mine was fine. According to Kingston's forum, they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix and sending out replacement sound cards. This issue can be fixed by plugging the headset directly into the computer and not using the USB sound card. Overall, the sound is amazing for a gaming headset. BUILD QUALITY: These headphones share the same build quality as the originals with a few slight cosmetic changes. The ear cups are made out of a high quality plastic, held to the headband by metal `forks` or whatever they are called. The `forks` are high quality brushed aluminium, which looks great. The headband itself is a plastic, leather feeling material which is very comfortable, flexes well and looks nice. The braided cable is very high quality. Unlike the braided cable on my Logitech G502 mouse, which shreds, so far, the cable has yet to show any kind of deterioration. It suits the headset well and should last a long time. However, the cable is not detachable and moves slightly in the ear cup. This is audible, but doesn't seem to affect sound quality. It would be nice if the cable was removable to remove this sort of issue, but still looks like it will last a long time if looked after properly. COMFORT: These headphones are very lightweight considering their size. They fit nicely over my ears, I use the membrane ear cups for extra comfort, as I fell the leather ones put too much pressure on my ears. The headband is decently sized and is comfortable. The only negative thing I can say here is that this headset clamps to my head too much for my liking. For example, my Sennheiser HD439s are of similar size and weight, but just sit on my head rather than clamp. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as they don't feel like they are going to fall off any time soon. When tilting my head with the Sennheisers, they move and fall off almost immediately, where as the HyperX moves little, if at all. Overall though, these are fairly comfortable and barely move when I move my head. Of course, comfort is extremely personal, so your experience could be entirely different. LOOKS: These headphones look very nice when worn. They are large, but not bulky like my Turtle Beach X42 headset, which looks and feels like 2 bricks on my ears. The Hyperx's shape fits around the head, looks very `streamlined`. The pink and white blend nicely together and don't interfere with each other. However, I think the grey mic pop filter doesn't fit with the scheme, I think a different colour would have fitted better. Overall, this headset looks very nice when on the head, is a good size. MICROPHONE QUALITY: The quality of the microphone isn't great, but it does the job and this is a budget orientated headset so I didn't expect much anyway. VALUE: For the £39.99 I paid for this headset in a lightning deal, this headset is extremely good value. Even at it's current price of £49.99 for pink and £74.99 for black and red, I would still happily purchase this headset. But it is always nice to get in on a lightning deal. The sound and build quality for this price is simply phenomenal. Also, the USB sound card is incredibly good, if you do experience the pop / crackle issue, Kingston are very helpful in responding to the issue. OVERALL: Overall, this is the first gaming headset I have actually liked. It provides great sound, build quality, a mic and the convenience of being USB and 3.5 mm all in one neat, great value package. Coming with leather, membrane ear cups and a carry bag makes this an even better deal. I would definitely recommend this headset to anyone in the market for buying one!
