Marvelous!
Summer brings lots of flies. I just started using this 2 days ago and it works wonders. I have pretty much caught every insect in my home. We had construction these past few days which left our house exposed to the elements and flies & other critters came into our home. I turned this off and over the course of each evening have continuously hearing zappings all throughout the evenings. In the morning I find lots of dead flies around it. I am very happy with this bug zapper. I recommend it. Not sure how long this will last but it does come with a set of replacement bulbs unlike other well known brands.

Works great; frighteningly loud.
I am both amazed and slightly horrified by how many flying insects this attracts and kills. Despite the poor translation, the instructions are helpful. Beware it is quite loud when it zaps a bug; so my dog won't stay in the same room with it while it is turned on. I would recommend moving the unit to another room, or turning it off at bedtime.

LOUD LOUD LOUD LOUD LOUD LOUD LOUD LOUD LOUD LOUD LOUD LOUD LOUD. AND MESSY.
I have a gnat problem. Don't get me wrong, this device works. There are dead gnats all over the place. Literally. Because they don't just politely fall straight down into the catcher; they go flying in all directions. There are dead gnats in a 3' x 3' area under the trap. In my case, that includes some kitchen counter. Eww.But the sound is obnoxious. The seller describes the sound like this: "you just can hear a very small "Bezze" when bee flies in the zapper, you will like this voice". Oh no no no no no no. This is like a mousetrap being snapped IN YOUR EAR. Mine goes off several times a minute as the gnat slaughter continues. Imagine a steady, not predictable, soundtrack of snapping mousetraps in your life. Do you really want that?If you are already frustrated by having gnats in your kitchen, you might be just tetchy enough to want to have a nervous breakdown every time this thing kills a gnat. I know I sure am. I am sitting here listening to it and thinking maybe I could just live with the gnats. I could get a beekeeper's hat, maybe? String together a bunch of mosquito nets so that I could move around my home without being bothered by the gnats, like a giant hamster tunnel? I just don't think I can live with this loud snap firing all hours of the day and night. So, if you're thinking of putting this in your garage, that might work. But for your kitchen? No. Unless noise is not an issue for you, in which case, you'll be happy with how it works. Just make sure it's not over anything you want to keep clean.

Highly recommended
Quiet. Harmless to plants, dogs and people. I haven’t been bitten by a wasp on my 120 year old farmhouse since I bought this!

Product should be banned from Amazon
I emailed Spica. They ignored the fact that I received an electrical shock by their product. This company:1. Has a dangerous product2. Has an extremely poor instruction manual3. Doesn't answer the questions asked via email4. Has no idea on the actual technical specifications of the product they sell.Stay away from this dangerous company/product. It kills!
It does kill many bugs. The first one that I bought has an issue with the bulbs, even the spare set that came with it. I think it was the balast and they replaced it promptly. I am very happy with their customer service and the new unit works well. It does get loud sometimes, depending on the type of bug and happens to fly into it. An unintended benefit is that the birds come the next day and eat the dead bugs! Easy cleanup! ;-)

Superb fly killer.!!
Bought this for friends we stay with as a gift and the fact they suffer badly with ordinary flies and fuit flies...We are from the UK and we have had one very similar for the past 4 years and its brilliant...those flies and bugs don't stand a chance. After they received it they put it to the test and they told me it was a god send.. the flies were being slaughtered left right and centre. Highly recommended ..And it comes with 2 spare bulbs...cheers

Very efficient
we have ladybug problem in the house, that zapper works perfectly. i've got some doubt prior to order it, since it's "only" 2800V; many others are around 4000V. That device really works perectly. we using it 24/7 since 2 weeks now. But don't expect to sleep with that device in your bedroom, too much light and when a bug is killed it's generate a spark that sounds like a smal fireworks (sometimes a bug could be just a the limit; many small discharges are generated until the real/final one. very good device.
