I'm no expert but its...
I'm not a flavor guru, but for my taste palette, it turns on the dancing light and my taste buds break out the dance moves. The quality and freshness of its flavor are rich and fantastic.I have been buying this product since 2015 each time I ran out.

Excellent Garam Masala for Tikka and Butter Chicken
This is my favorite brand of Garam Masala available outside of small Indian markets. The flavors are rich and warm. Other major brands are okay, but they don't provide as much depth. We make Butter Chicken so often in our house that we had to buy in bulk. Excellent bulk price. I store it in my freezer for freshness.

Best Garam Masala with High Cinnamon and Cloves!
I love this product period! The combination of ingredients are what I am looking for.I use this product for several dishes and even as tea as mentioned by another reviewer. The cinnamon and cloves are in the right proportions and I don't taste them as overwhelming. They provide more antioxidant values to my nutritionally dense recipes/foods that I prepare. If the cinnamon and cloves proportions change (lowered), I will be looking elsewhere. Thanks Frontier and keep it up.Satisfied customer, katawia

great for soup
Great quality, dense and aromatic. Use to cook in soups, but seems to be good for meats.

Super high clove content
Super high clove content, way more than is normally present in Garam Masala. I am hoping I just received a bad batch.

Too much clove and cinnamon.
I wanted to like this Garam Masala. Love that it is organic. But this is not at all a traditional garam marsala. The first 3 ingredients are cardamom, cinnamon & clove. My usual Garam Masala has Cumin, Cardamom & Coriander, as the first 3 ingredients. Frontier's garam marsala is way too heavy on the clove, with the cinnamon coming in as a close second. Both overpower the dishes I add it to. I do a lot of Indian cooking, several nights a week. This masala is messing up my recipes that call for a classic garam masala, making them way too sweet/heavily clove laden. I am going to try to add more cumin, coriander, black pepper, nutmeg, dry ginger, some powdered bayleaf, and a bit of mace and see if I can't come up with a better overall mix so I can use up this product. Sadly, I won't order it again unless they change their basic mix of spices. Frontier needs to rethink their Garam Masala recipe, and consider making it a more traditional garam masala for us Indian food enthusiasts. UPDATE: I actually ended up ordering this masala again. It took some time, but I worked out a formula where I added more cumin, coriander, black pepper, and other spices depending upon the dish, so I could use this Masala regularly in my Indian cooking. It is more complicated to do this, but it isn't easy to find an organic garam masala, so I kept experimenting. I do appreciate the freshness and high quality of Frontier's spices, even if (overall) I would still prefer they modified this Garam Marsala to make it a bit more traditional.
