Work great
A little long for my husband's Hey Dude shoes, but with a few extra knots on each side and the original knot cover, these saved the shoe (lost a battle to the vacuum).

easy replacement for hey dude laces
these are the perfect hey Dude shoe replacement lace! my dog chewed my husband lace off the shoe on the left. These 22" black shoe elastic was almost perfect match to the original. I just kept the original "knot covers" from the dude's. these are just a hair thicker and a little bit longer than what I needed, but after you knot the ends its not noticable!

sounds like a good idea, but may work better for situations other than mine
I got these for my son's lace-up tap shoes. He is 5 years old and is still trying to learn how to tie. Because I drop him off for class, I am not there to tie his shoes when he needs to change halfway through class (he doesn't do tap the entire time) and thought these laces would be the perfect solution. I got the smallest size available, but they are still very long for his little shoes (he has small feet--size 10 Toddler). I didn't want to cut them off because then I would lose the plastic ends and was concerned the cut part would fray. I tried tying the laces in a bow, but they are stiff and slippery, so that didn't work out too well. It was the best I could do and is what we're using right now, but it's frustrating to have to keep tying the laces every few days when I was hoping I would only have to do that once and be able to have them stay in place. It may work better for bigger shoes or older kids/adults than it did for me, and I don't think I will use this product again for children.

Great laces!
My 7 year old son has fine motor skill issues due to an autoimmune disease and can't tie his shoes. This greatly embarrasses him. These laces allow him to put his shoes on without help. They can be pulled tight when he is doing something athletic or left loose when he just wants to throw them on and go. You won't be sorry. Next time I will order the next size up as they barely made it through his shoes, but that was a size thing, not the way they work. They have been sturdy and I will order these again and again. These saved my son a lot of embarrassing moments and that is worth a million!

They work
I bought these for my cousin as he had a hard time tying his shoes since he gained so much weight and this seems to help the poor guy out

Stiff and hard to use
My husband is a stroke survivor, with no use at all of his left hand/arm, or leg. Thank goodness there are now nice-looking shoes with hook and loop closure, because dress shoes are traditionally lace up. Years ago, we had a similar product with elastic laces and the little device to keep them from slipping, but can't find them any more. Once I laced his shoes up and put on the plastic device, he was able to loosen or tighten the laces himself, but not with these. Just another blockade to independence.

Perfect replacements for hey dudes laces
My wife’s hey dudes needed new laces but they don’t sell replacements. These worked perfectly to replace the broken stretchy laces, we just copied the knot and didn’t use the adjuster pieces. Highly recommend for this

Bad product (read if you have a disability)
I got a disability with my left arm that I cannot use much. I thought these were made for people with disabilities, but no. Super hard to push that button to open. I actually tried to use my teeth to open it and it chipped my tooth! Terrible(product also) but it wasn't to bad... Tyless laces are much easier to use.https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B072XFCLFD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B007MHBBXE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
