Keep on Rockin

To much filler
I agree with the popular belief that Clapton Beck & Page are the the three most influential guitar players to come out of Great Britain. However in their musical careers they have sounded anywhere from good to outstanding depending who they were playing with at a particular time in their musical history. Alvin Lee an amazing guitarist in his own rite is no different. If you want to hear him at his best then you need to buy all of Ten Years After catalogue.Being a huge fan and collector of Alvin Lee, his work with Ten Years After wasnt enough, I craved more and because I did I looked at some of the reviews of his work outside of TYA posted on Amazon and decided to buy the 2 CD compilation Keep On Rockin'. There is some kick ass guitar on this title but way to much filler to make this item a worthwhile purchase. However if youre like me and believe that there is no such thing as too much Alvin and want to own much more than his work with TYA but only want material that is equally as important as his work with TYA, then buy the Keep On Rockin SINGLE version only along with Alvins Pure Blues which has some but not all of the great blues stuff listed on the 2 CD version of Keep On Rockin'. Also, Ten Years Later's Pumping Iron and if you can afford it the Ten Years After Recorded Live 2 CD deluxe version which boasts material that wasnt released on the original LP release. IMHO of course

Brilliant Outing!!
"Keep on Rockin'" is one brilliant album from a true "outlaw" artist. Not wanting to wade in the corporate pool of the music industry, Alvin Lee, oozes rock'n roll blood like no one else. The twelve songs on this set are all winners, particularly, one of the best blues songs ever, "The Bluest Blues", with neighbor George Harrison accompanying Alvin with exceptionally moving slide guitar work. "Play It Like It Use To Be", on the other hand, expresses my sentiment with regard to what was happening in 1994 - no slam on Madonna (if you enjoy corporate hamburger then eat it up)- however when Alvin barks out "Go tell Madonna she don't do nothin' for me", I feel warm inside!! Rock on, Alvin - Rock on!!!
