I have a prolapsed disc and get 2 distinct areas of pain - nerve pain in the lower L5/S1 area and a more muscular type pain around the obliques/lower lats? (anatomy is not my bag)This is great for the muscular pain but is just a little too short to be effective lower down. It is good for easing tension in the shoulders, especially for those, who like me, have terrible posture at your desk.Warms up quickly and I rarely have it above the lowest setting.You will, however, look like an extra from a 70s sci-fi show when wearing it so make sure you take it off when answering the door to the postman.

Oh boy, this is good. Wonderful heat just where I need it. I was worried it might not be hot enough. Well, wearing it over a linen shirt and a thick cashmere jumper, the 3rd and hottest setting was a bit too much, (very much like a just-filled hot water bottle without a cover sort of hot), so I am wearing it on the middle setting, (2), which is still blissfully warm. The most heat is in the small of my back - oh my goodness it is heaven. The other heated areas are at the top of my back and on the shoulders, heated back and front.I like being in my conservatory in winter, because I love the light and being able to watch all the wildlife outside, but it is very expensive to heat properly, so this is just great. Don't worry about the size if you are a larger person. It is very generous and will fit most. The front neck flaps are weighted slightly so they won't slip off even if you don't do up the neck poppers.My only wish would be to have it made in a nicer more wearable colour, like dark navy with navy trim.However, it is a fantastic product and I highly recommend it. I love this, it’s helped me so much in both back, shoulder pain and abdominal. As I can just wrap it around myself. I love that it’s easily cleaned too! I was recently in hospital and took it with me and all the nurses wanted to buy themselves one too as alll loved it.The only suggestion it to make it a big wider as I’m tiny (size 4-6) and would like it to come around the sides of the body a bit more. I ordered a larger one in the hopes I could wrap it around myself but it barely touches the sides when warn properly and then the ties that are there to wrap it around the waste are far too low as it’s a larger size; designed for a man.I’d suggest to put the ties higher up as their around my hips and makes the point of typing it around you to provide the heat on sides redundant as just too low for ladies.Overall, it’s really solved the issues of being under palliative care, needing heat packs warmed up when alone a thing of the past. As I can just turn this on and target the pain in a simpler way.It also arrived in a decent time too. Thank you

What an excellent item. I have had one of these before but due to being used on a daily basis.......... This one is slightly wider than my old one and how glad I am that I spent the extra. Lovely and warm for an aching back and shoulders

I am what is described as big, obese, or both .I expected this item to be too small but I tried it anyway. It is a good size and first impression was, if I have this on do I need heating? Lovely and comfortable and very warm. Then I switched on and enjoyed being gently cooked. I tried all three settings an didn't over heat. When I stood up I found that my hips were easier and my shoulder was eased. I cannot say if this is going to last long term, I can only report bon one day of use at the moment, but so far it meets it's promises. I have no worries about recommending this to anyone..

I bought this for my 70+ Y.O. wife. She had been complaining about her back for a few days. She can't take pain killers. The first time she used it, she was delighted, only slight downer was it was too hot, even on low. She soon solved it with a T shirt under the warmer. Backache's gone, she just uses it as a snuggler

I tried 4 other brands of this type of full back heat pad and none of them gave the heat they were stated to give. This one does! If you suffer back pain and need real heat to help relieve it, this is the one you want. 100% recommend.

Great for heating your back or stomach. Fits well for plus size. Eased my back pain until it started to burn my back. At heat number 1 it burnt my back & I had a dressing gown on. Unfortunately I cannot return it due to a time limit for returning an item. Not recommended.
