Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45, No. 1 Light – Medium, 1.35 Ounce

I have been using Dr. Jart for nearly 15 years. I first started using it for early menopause break-outs. I had more acne in my mid to late 40’s than as a teen. This was great at helping to control break-outs yet still moisturizing on my dry skin. At some point the packaging has changed and they added the dark toned color but it still works just as well. I use the light to medium tone.I shake the hard tube at least a few times weekly, then dispense one pump of the bb. One pump is almost too much product for my face. I always wear a facial moisturizer under the bb. This bb is heavier than many bb’s, like a light to medium foundation. It is definitely not just a tinted moisturizer. Dr. Jart’s provides a good amount of coverage but spot concealer is still needed for the under eye area and any new red spots. It evens out the tone if my skin nicely.I have noticed a few things over the years and from purchasing from multiple vendors.....1) Amazon does not always have the the freshest cosmetics. I can’t imagine why that is with the volume they must sell. 2) when this gets older, it becomes thicker and has a different consistency...almost waxy feeling. Also, the color looks a bit different on my fingers when older, but not when on my face. 3) when this is the freshest, the consistency on your fingers is almost oily. It is neither oily nor separated when being used. 4) Like any product made of multiple liquid ingredients, it needs to be shaken frequently to get the best and longest use from it. And I mean shaken well. This helps keep the bb from changing texture and color.As with any quality cosmetic, this should be stored in a cool, dark place. Not in the sunshine and not in high temperatures. When your tube arrives, always check the “best by” date on the back side of the tube and return if the date is six months or less away. A tube of Dr. Jart’s Premium BB lasts me almost exactly a full school year (yeah, I’m a teacher). If you don’t keep it shaken and don’t keep it in a cool dry place, it will last about six months.

Normally, I do not leave reviews on products because it is a tedious and time consuming process. However, I had to leave a review for this product because I absolutely love it. I first discovered Dr. Jart+'s Premium BB Cream when Sephora sent me a deluxe trial size version with one of my orders. I am not a fan of BB creams generally but as soon as I tried this, I was beyond excited! I have fair skin, and in ten years of using make-up, I have never been able to find a foundation that matched my skin color. They were always too dark, too yellow, etc. This one, however, matches me perfectly without making me feel like I'm wearing a heavy and thick layer of foundation. It diminishes the appearance of red spots and pimples and makes my skin look better without making obvious that I am wearing makeup. The price is a little steep but still totally worth it. I encourage girls with fair skine tones to try this product. I am not using any other foundation now that I found Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm!

I love this BB cream. It make skin fell moisturized when I apply it. Very good quality. I just wish I got the other shade though! This one makes my face look pale I don't like to mix it with foundation or other BB cream. I got the lighter shade based on my friend recommendation, her skin is lighter than mine. I tried hers once and liked the texture and the natural coverage and the SPF is great. She told me that the lighter shade suits me too but is makes my face look lighter than my neck even if I apply some on my neck too. I didn't use it right after it was delivered coz I wanted to finish my lançons BB cream first. But then I realised that the exchange or return deadline was over. But I still like I may get the medium shade and mix en toghether!!

This product is great. I tend to have some rosacia that can make finding just the right color and coverage a bit difficult. It blends well, looks natural and hides most of the discoloration. It is a little thicker than a lot of foundations, which is probably why the coverage is so good. I also have extremely sensitive skin, which limits the choices of makeup I can use. I've had no reaction to this product whatsoever - yay!I would have given this product 5 stars, but because of the deceptive packaging I considered giving it only 3. Although it appears to be a tube, this container is hard and not squeezable. There is no way to tell how much product is left. I was shocked when I went to use and there was no more left. You'd never know it from the weight of the tube. Also, a lot of product gets left in the tube because of the pump dispenser. You'll have to unscrew the pump to get more out. I read one review saying that the outer hard tube can be cut open to reveal a smaller inner tube that is squeezable. I'll be trying that.

The main reason I love this product is how well it matches my skin color. I NEVER wore foundation, BB Cream, or the like on a consistent basis until I found this! It was recommended by a super well known cosmetics store, but since I buy everything from Amazon, I can easily order it, and it appears at my door! I have to say, I do not like the shiny finish, so I cover this BB with translucent powder. I now LOVE wearing makeup every day! The SPF 45 also makes me feel like I am doing something to protect my face from the sun year round. Also, one bottle goes a LONG way! It is actually a VERY sturdy bottle, too. I looks like it would be a soft plastic tube, but it is actually a firm plastic, and the product comes out by pressing the dispense button. LOVE this product.

The Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 gives good coverage and protection for mature skin. Maybe it was the shade I selected, but it flashed an unflattering grayish hue on my skin. It was also not the most pleasant smell. This is good, not great.
