Hornady Lockbox for Guns and Valuables

Very nice security box for my truck. This item replaces a cheaper made security box I had been using that broke and I really like this one very much. Metal is much thicker than my previous box, internal locking mechanism functions nicely and is extremely secure, when closed the top and bottom of the box fit very tightly and solidly and the cable is nice and thick and long enough to secure around whatever metal framing inside your vehicle that you intend to use an an anchor point. This is really a very nice vehicle security box and I'm very happy with it. When I first got the box the key "stuck" a little and didn't insert and remove as smoothly as I would've liked but after using the box for a very short period of time the key has "worn in" and now inserts and turns very smoothly. If you're looking for a solid vehicle security box this one is worth consideration.

So far, it's exactly as you would expect it to be. It's a thick gauge metal box that locks and it even has egg foam padding the inside! Out of the box it appears to be able to do exactly what I intend it to do. My intended use is a means of securing a firearm in my vehicle when i don't necessarily want to physically carry. There was a small scratch in the paint right out of the box (pictured). For me personally I couldn't care less, but I know some of y'all love showing off how pretty your purchased items are so take that into account when considering purchasing a firearm lock box that's under $40. The box itself looks and feels sturdy enough. the hinge seems solid and there is no spring/assist to it which is what I prefer. There is a gap in the seam which could potentially be used to assist in prying the box open but it will most likely require the time and effort needed to physically bend out the sides of the box and or bend the locking bar to be able to acquire the goods inside. The keyed lock feels flimsy but so for its worked every time I've desired to make entry into the box. I like that the security cable can be fashioned to either side of the box and it further assists in keeping honest people honest. The room inside the box is plentiful. As seen it can fit a full size weapon with an attached light (yes it's a cheap light, sue me) and a multitude magazines. It even fits my issued weapon, off duty holster, "child" lock and a spare magazine with no issues.Overall I'm very pleased. Will update if necessary.

I needed a SIMPLE, PRACTICAL, RELIABLE, LOCK BOX...No Wi-Fi, cell-phone app, fingerprint, eye-scan, voice recognition, magic wand, B.S.Besides paying extra for all of that, IT WILL FAIL YOU WHEN YOU NEED IT THE MOST.I don't trust my YMCA's plastic lockers. Don't want someone braking in and using my "device" to do harm to others. --So it stays locked in the car for the duration of my workout.I would not recommend it for long-term storage; only when needed for something like the gym or government/school building business.

This is definitely a solid lock box and for my needs it does well. Makes me feel a lot better when I need to take my EDC off when going into certain places. I do not trust the world so having this locked up and tied to my car is a bit safer than just leaving it under the seat.The key/lock mechanism seems a bit weak in terms of the long term durability if you open and close a lot. Once its sealed the box seems quite sturdy and would definitely require some effort to pop open definitely longer than any smash and grab attack would last so that feels good.I would potentially look into a thicker cable I am sure anyone with a basic set of tools could snag this no issue but I am not as worried about those targeted attacks more just smash and grab.It fits perfectly under the back of my RAM 1500 passenger seat and once tucked in you cannot see it unless you crouch down and look at it, even then its not really noticeable. Might have been better if it was painted black.Again does what I need if I need to run in somewhere that i cannot carry then I get back and throw it back on. I would not recommend this for anyone looking for quick access. It is definitely a process to make sure you have the key then open. It is much more for someone looking for temporary storage when you cannot have your EDC on you.I would recommend for anyone looking to keep things a bit more secure while away from the car.

Hornady quality in a straightforward key lock steel gun box.Needed simplicity for a senior to secure an old pistol. Uses a barrel style round key, and comes with a spare key. Very heavy steel, nicely padded inside, inexpensive solution. Comes with a cable for those who need it.

This is the biggest they have. Going to lock under car seat for security of items. Nice heavy duty cable ( not thin or cheap ) fits tight with a kydex iwb holster and 1 mag for beretta Apx compact. A full size will fit but recommend a thin holster if using that to inside.Heavy construction and has 2 fly bolts that lock inside like a regular gun safe. Feels very secure.U will need a padlock to secure cable to seat bracket or if u even want to secure it to something. Comes with 2 keys. A combination type lock with key would b nice but adds to price. U pay for what u get so consider that when looking at a cheaper box.

Everything I expected and more. Very durable. Nothing about it feels cheap. I have it under my left rear passenger seat of my Silverado and the cable fits perfect!
