Diary Of A Baby

This book will take you into your new baby’s developing world... from the inside/out. Welcome.
My husband loved this fascinating book so much that we give it to everyone we know, or meet and like, that has a new baby. It takes you into the baby’s world and you will “see”things from their developing perspective... from infancy to toddlerhood to a peak into age 4. Magical, medically researched and sound information.

Each new patient should read this book
Great book for new parents. Teaches how to understand your baby's internal world while they are non verbal or limited in their expression for the adult world.

Litterature for becoming parents
This book is based on most serious psychological research and reflects the knowledge we at the moment have about how babies percieve and experiences their environment. A book I recommend for all becoming parents, and it ought to be read before the child is borne. It explains how, and why the relational environment is of paramount importance for the psychological developement of all children. Do you want your child to have a psychologically sound developement? Then read this book!

I Remember
I remember clearly reading this about 20 years ago after my first grandchild was born. I have friends who have a wonderful new son and I bought it for them knowing it will mean a lot to them. It was amazing to see and feel from a baby's perspective and follow the baby's development before he/she could verbalize experiences.

A great gift for new parents
As a pediatrician, I love this little book and have given it to all my friends when they had their first baby. Dr. Stern is a recognized expert on early childhood development and teaches at Cornell. In this book he has done something quite unusual. He succeeded in weaving the pearls from his academic work into a delightful, readable book that any interested person can enjoy. This book makes it fun to understand your child better.

It would be useful for both graduate students and soon-to-be parents to read
This book gives an empiracically supported account of an infants viewpoint. It would be useful for both graduate students and soon-to-be parents to read.

Great for new parents
I give the book to every new parent or parents to be. It gives them a very easy to read and understandable view, from the baby's perspective, of what's going on developmentally during the first couple years of birth. An excellent read for all parents!!!

A 'must' for every parent
Compared to Sterne's more serious textbooks this is lightweight (in the nicest possible way) and accessible to all. Every parent could learn from reading this book especially first time parents. I gave a copy to my daughter when her first son (also named Joe like the character in the book) was born - she was a little apprehensive but then asked where she could buy another copy as she wanted to buy one for a friend who had just given birth. It uses known behaviour, theory and a certain amount of creativity to help the read see through the eyes of Joe. So much is explained and revealed and the baby's very special and somewhat secret world is revealed. My only regret is that I didn't have such touching, insightful and knowledgeable literature to hand when I was a young mother.

Beautiful and inspiring
Beautiful, inspiring book; about the experience of being... poetic and connecting to theory as well as our somatic experience. Compliments NARM / Neuro Affective Relational Model of therapy very well because it names the needs of the infant so beautifully.
