The iron mat with iron rest arrived very wrinkled The iron rest is great and is padded very well. BUT, the pad itself is a very thin foam with a sheet of silver heat resistant fabric covering the thin foam. I use the pad part with lots of padding underneath. I would never use it on a nice wooden table. Also I do not use it on my dryer so I do not know how the iron rest works with that set up. It is handy for quick touch ups. Also great for craft projects.

This mat is generously sized, length- and width-wise, but it's not very thick. Now, that doesn't bother me, but by reading the other reviews, I can tell it might be a problem for some. Luckily, the surface that I'm working on isn't a finished wood surface, so I haven't put any heat or moisture stains on an expensive piece of furniture, like some people are reporting. I like the fact that it has an iron rest incorporated into the product -- very handy. The thing I like the best about this product is how easy it is to fold up and store. All in all, I'm quite satisfied with this purchase.

Got this for a trip to Europe since most hotels only have one iron and ironing board for the entire hotel's use...and the luck of it being available when you need it is never on your side. This was small and folded nicely, perfect to pack and got the job done but I would still prefer a standing board, to make things easier and to save time.

Not the products fault, but when I got it, I realized this was not what I was looking for. I wanted something thicker to set by my sewing machine for piece work - to press seams as I sewed. I've cut the product and wrapped it around a board. Makeshift, but working out.

What a great product! With limited space in our vacation condo, I needed something more useful than a couple of soft dish towels on the kitchen counter as a makeshift ironing board. I can use this mat on the counter or on top of my dryer without fear of scorching either surface. The iron rest provides additional protection. I'm so glad I purchased the mat along with the recommended travel steam iron. No matter how carefully I pack my dresses or my husband's suits, I usually need to touch up the inevitable wrinkles, and this combination solves the problem.

No discount or etc. bought and paid for product! Works well, exceptionally well! Exceeding my expectations! I work and travel to countries around the world. Even in climates where it is not necessary to iron your clothes, for me it is a force of habit and rather relaxing somehow! So, this product provides me with a surface on which I can iron any fabric, today, I ironed, silk, cotton and some blends... used it with Eureka portale multi-voltage iron, both Awesome!

I saw an ironing mat at a home tour and thought what a great idea. No ironing board to drag out and put up. I assumed the mat could be used on a solid surface like the top of the dryer. Not so. If you use the mat on a solid surface there is no place for the steam to escape except back thru the mat. Not good when you are trying to iron an item that you want dry when you finish. Anyway, I think it's a good idea that for me just doesn't work well.

This is fine I guess for small projects. I have only used it for crafts. I use it on a tile counter top, though, because even without water in the iron, the tile underneath gets damp. I'm am sure this would be detrimental to a wood surface. It also slides around easily even though the bottom of it is a sort of sponge material.Be aware of how you want to use this.
