Excellent hold and stylability!
I’ve only used a couple mustache waxes before, but this is hands down the best I’ve used thus far! There are a few things to note.1. A little goes a long way! For a really good hold, I end up using less than a quarter of what I needed with previous waxes. The third picture shows about how much I use per side.2. It stays in place for a long time! Previous waxes I’ve used ended up loosing their hold after (at most) an hour. Lockhart’s stays in place significantly longer, even under a mask! I’m sure results will vary, but after 5 hours at work in a mask, this wax still held its shape!3. It’s thick, but not chunky. Other waxes are solid, but liquify and mix relatively easy once pressed between your fingers (albeit, with small chunks of unmelted wax). Lockhart’s is a lot thicker when pressed, but it doesn’t have any solid chunks to it. It goes on smooth, and (so far) doesn’t appear to have any buildup.4. It does have a scent. I can understand how this could be a major turnoff to a lot of people, especially right under your nose. Honestly, I find the scent pleasant, and I barely notice it after a minute or so. I’m not sure what scent it actually is, but it’s a sweeter, outdoorsy scent. My previous wax smelled like pine, so for me, this is a good change of pace.Anyone looking to experiment with a high-hold wax can’t go wrong with this purchase! It’s relatively inexpensive, holds strong for hours, and styles easily. If you’re new to using mustache wax, I’d actually recommend starting with something else to get a feeling for how to apply effectively, and to find out what’s going to work for you. If, like me, you’re looking to experiment with a strong hold wax, I can’t recommend Lockhart’s enough!

Serious Wax for Serious Mustaches.
I converted to Lockhart's about two years ago after being a loyal user of another brand for a very long time. I tried it just for a change of pace, and I am glad I did. It smells great, which may not matter to some people, but it is an important detail to me. Aside from the smell though, the heavy duty wax holds like nothing I've ever used before or since. It's very sticky, and when the temperature drops, it will need a little warm-up to become pliable, but it holds like steel once it's in there. Due to its thickness, it may take new users a little practice to avoid using too much and getting that white waxy appearance. A little of this goes a long way. I have used this to dress my mustache before a couple of day-long summer events, and have made it through without even needing a touch up. This is serious wax for serious mustaches.

Lockhart's wax has a really nice hold. It holds practically all day unless I'm ...
I've tried many other dark color mustache wax so I know what I want in a wax. Lockhart's wax has a really nice hold. It holds practically all day unless I'm sweating my face off, then I may need to reapply. The smell is pleasant. Smells like a mix of manly floral scent with some talc powder. The application of this wax is easy. I scrape it off with my thumb nail. I then spread it out with my thumb and index finger. And then apply directly on to my mustache and I use a Kent 81T Extra small comb to comb in the waxy goodness to make for an even distribution. I've tried other waxes where it was way to sticky to apply. Instead I just make a mess smearing wax all over the bathroom. I would recommend this wax to any gentlemen out there wanting to tame their monster mustache or beards.

Unable to apply
I have a XXXL mustache and was looking for a sculping wax.....this is not your product!!! you can apply it, as it is in a brick form that is unable to turn into a wax. Simply a wrong product for trying to stage your mustache

Best hold for finely styled handlebars - any climate
This is the best wax for my thinly grown handlebar mustache. Using it only on the handlebars, they stay fully intact throughout the whole day even in 90°F weather and even through the rain. Of course, it holds even better in cooler weather. However, if the can gets below room temperature in the winter, it should be warmed in your pocket for a few minutes before styling.I've used Lockhart's heavy duty for two years now. A can lasts me almost a year. It is tricky to style perfectly, but it comes with experience. I receive many compliments anytime I'm in public.I use the brown wax because I have brown hair. Brown wax is not meant to cover up gray hair – there are specific products designed for that. This product deserves 5 stars because it is excellent at its intended purpose.

A soft lightweight wax, maybe a winter wax
OK... I've used a wide variety of mustache waxes and I'll say this... The color and smell are ok, it is a decent greasy wax for light use.Waxes fall in a range of greasy - waxy. The greasy ones are good if you have fine hair. They allow you to more easily adjust the 'stache throughout the day. They're a little easier to apply, keep clean looking, and remove. They do not hold up to heat very well though.Waxier waxes tend to be better if you have course unruly facial hair. They hold up better with high temps. They allow for more defined 'sculpting'. They are harder on your hair. They're hard to work into the 'stache and harder to remove with pulling hairs out. They also tend development an unsightly wax buildup.I have very course, very unruly facial hair that I form into mustache with full loops. I live in a very hot humid climate, we regularly run 95-105degF with 55-75% humidity. So I need strong wax. This is an OK winter wax, as it is nice and sticky, and it almost hardens enough in colder weather, almost, but it completely fails as a summer wax for me.Oh, I should note it is colored. It doesn't seem to stain though. On the whole, if you have soft hair, or if you just need enough wax to point the tips of your 'stache, or if you live in a cool climate, say go for it. I would recommend looking up firehouse wax first, but this will work. If you need something with serious hold, check out woodsman.

Gives a good strong hold but a little less stiff then firehouse wacky tacky, works much better for me during the winter months as wacky tacky just starts to rip hairs out if you don't warm it before applying, with this it seems to be just right for the cold and still gives a fair enough hold during summer. The vanilla scent is also nice and not overpowering, girlfriend loves it.

Very hard and low tack, but holds
I was losing hope of finding a dark wax that doesn't stand out in the quantities needed to hold, but this is significantly better than what I used before - even if it is very hard to get out of the tin and up to working consistency. It's well worth the effort, to not be losing half of it as I re-smooth the hairs out throughout the day with other waxes that just pull apart from facial movement like smiling.

Worth every penny.
Really really enjoyed this wax. Easy to apply with quality results and held its style all day.
