Perfect Starrett quality snap gauges
Absolutely perfect. Check out Adam Booth's videos on how to use these (He's Abom79 on YouTube).I use Adam's technique and get repeatable results to the thousandth every time. I imagine that if I had the chops to work in tenths, these gauges would not hold me back.

No frills just does what it's supposed to do. After trying to use some import gauges I gave up and ordered these, I think you get what you pay for with Starrett.

I love Starrett products and have a ton in my shop ...
First set I ordered the smallest gauge wouldn't deploy all the way, got an exchange. Got the replacement, opened the box, and there sits the spring and one of the ends of the smallest gauge! I love Starrett products and have a ton in my shop but this is just crazy. I read the reviews for the Brown and Sharpe and Mitutoyo and all say their quality is shot. I don't care about the cost and they don't need to be made of gold, they just need to actually WORK. They won't send a replacement to a replacement so I have to wait until they receive it to get a refund and I have parts to make. Starrett...not cool.

Versatile gauge set
I purchased this gauge set mainly to verify my engine clearances with these gauges and my outside micrometer. I haven’t got a chance to use these before so I find out that it is trickier to get decent measures than with inside micrometer. But because I don’t have inside micros at hand I’ll have to learn to use these accurate way and take several measurements just to be sure. All in all these are nice products. If you need gauges for example to verify your head porting work along the way I cannot imagine better tools to measure differencies between the ports even if you are using flow bench.
