i HAVE A POOL HOUSE WITH A FIREPLACE. i HAVE BEEN COBBLING TOGETHER SEVERAL SMALLER GRATES THE KIND NORMALLY FIND IN-HOUSE FIREPLACES.BUT THEY ARE PRETTY CHEAP AND i WAS IN SEARCH OF A NICE BIG STURDY GRATE. i FOUND NOTHING SIMILAR TO THIS GRATE IN MY iNTERNET SEARCHES AND SO DESPITE THE PRICE i ORDERED THIS ITEM. WORTH EVERY PENNY!! THIS IS SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT ,SUPER STABLE, FINALLY i FOUND A GREAT TO MATCH THE FIREPLACE. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IN THIS GRATE THE ONLY WARNING IS THAT IT IS SO HEAVY YOU WILL NEED TO PEOPLE TO PLACE IT.

You might need a back hoe to get this in your fireplace. Very well made, very nice, very HEAVY.

Bought 2 of these behemoths. Don't worry about the condition of the box when you receive it....the box is more to protect the shipper personnel from the grate, than it is to protect the grate. This beast is BIG and it is HEAVY - don;t hurt your back. And it looks like you could park a car on it.Have not tried it in a fireplace yet, but judging by comparison to the $100 thin metal grate I've been using for the past few years, I doubt this one will warp or fall apart.
