Definitely a smart purchase
So I recently received my Brown Belt and after having a Killer Bee belt for Purple I really wanted to get another GI material belt. They break in great and stay tied better. I figured since I shop on amazon pretty consistently I would see if KillerBee was on here. No such luck, BUT I did end up order this belt from Maeda. I am glad I did. While the belt will definitely take longer to break it because it is much stiffer and thicker I feel like it is a much more high quality product. I would say it's about 1/3 thicker than KB and seems to have a much tighter weave. Really looking forward to having to break in, but it already holds a knot pretty well. I also thing the belt is a bit wider as well, which makes it seem more like a tradition BJJ belt.

Excellent belt
Love the feel of this belt. It is thick and has a substantial feel to it. Seems like it will stay tied well due to the friction of material. The color is lighter, more of a lavender, but is to my liking. I wear an A3 gi but all that was available was A4. I washed it in hot water and dried once and is close to A3 size. I do like my belt a tad longer anyways. It hangs about 12" from the knot (which is quite large due to thickness of material and width of belt). I wanted a nice belt since I will be wearing this one for a little while. This is belt perfect and I believe I will be getting a brown one in the future once I get to that milestone.

Nearly perfect BJJ belt.
I LOVE THIS BELT! It is almost perfect. ALMOST.The stitching is fantastic, the material is durable and the color looks great. My only complaint is that there is no stitching through the rank bar. Instead, they only gave the rank bar an outer stitching. It is a tiny complaint, otherwise, a special belt in my opinion.

Awesome! training belt
I've been rolling with this belt now for a couple of weeks. I like it. it's heavy and stays tied pretty well. No complaints from me, and I will get another if the need arises due to wear and tear. Solid training belt.update: 6 months in....this belt is still great. so much so, in fact, that I will be getting a second one to have as a backup. I really can't say enough positive things about this belt.update: a year and some change.....I love this belt....I want to get another one.....there doesn't seem to be any black belts available. the color is still good, the durability is off the charts, roll 5-8 times per week, I really do want to get another as a backup.

Possibly the Perfect Belt
I've tried various belts during my BJJ journey, but this one tops them all. Stays tied nicely and looks great. I'm a bit of a clean freak so I wash my belt very regularly. There was some minor shrinkage which was to be expected. Even with the frequent washing the belt is holding up great. Highly recommend this one.

Don't be like Keith...
Imagine if you would:The year is 2020. The world is coming to an end. You are trapped in a basement, alone with your Jiujitsu buddies playing Dungeons and Dragons. With the confidence that wearing your Camo Gi while playing table top board games gives you, you are prepared to conquer anything with your Lvl 3 Gnome Barbarian named Keith. The gyms top 3 stripe purple belt is your Dungeon Master, as all good purple belts are. He asks you to roll a perception check; as a barbarian you are at an obvious disadvantage and you fail the check. An Orc Battle Master in Heavy armor has snuck up behind you (somehow), hitting with a two handed greatsword screaming "Fear me, for I am Derrick". You, Keith the gnome-barbarian, are taken back. You roll to hit on your turn, swinging your Giant's club (DM Decision) with full force!Alas, you miss. Derrick is quite the nimble one, you say under your breath. You notice his broad shoulders, remembering flash backs from grade school of the trashy Orc bully with broad shoulders that would dunk your head in the schools toilets (Screw that guy). This invigorates you! You go into a rage at the end of your turn!Derrick, seeing as he's a battle master he attempts to disarm you of your weapon with great success. He grins, yet hesitates, questioning himself if you might be one of the kids, all grown up, that went to grade school with him. Derrick had quite the crush on a young gnome, and harassed him quite often to hide his true feelings...With this hesitation, he forgets to attack. It is now your turn.As a bonus action at the beginning of your turn, you drop your gnomish britches to reveal your secret weapon. Similar in stature and shape of your previous weapon, reaching its maximum potential due to your rage, you spin with full force attacking Derrick the evil Orc Battlemaster.Stunned, Derrick receives a critical hit and is knocked prone...."That was longer than I expected...", thinks Derrick.I too thought what Derrick did, when I first tried on my A2 White Maeda Gi Material BJJ Belt. Unlike Keith's member, it is quite soft and pliable, making for strong knots that will stay tied during even the most intense dungeon skirmish. Both Keith and Derrick would recommend this belt, for its durability and stiffness.Heed my warning, however: As Donald Trump would say, "It's hUUUge."
