my cats love it! keeps them entertained
I bought this because I saw an ad for a similar toy on facebook, but it was priced much higher. I thought no way that could be the only self-propelled ball cat toy around, so some searching led me to this product. I am pretty pleased with this as it keeps my cats entertained. It can travel pretty far and while it has gotten itself stuck a few times, mainly from me leaving stuff out on the floor that shouldn't be there, but it is strong enough to mostly get itself out of a situation. It's not terribly noisy (though I wouldn't exactly recommend turning it on while you are trying to sleep if you have hard wood floors) and I like that it's USB-rechargeable, way more convenient than having to swap batteries. It also has a little laser light which I think adds to their interest, because my cats otherwise love to chase a laser pointer around. The light on this doesn't project out to shine a spot on the wall or anything but I think they see the bright red dot and it makes them think of the laser pointer dot.

A nice complement to laser pointer play
If your cats like to chase a laser pointer (are there any that don’t?) and hunt, then they will enjoy this one. Unlike the rotating car laser toys that sit in one spot on the floor and just spin in a circle, this ball randomly rolls all over the place. It works best on hardwood or firm surfaces but still moves on a carpet (just not as far or as fast). Cats can’t grab or chew this one, but they can practice their stalking skills for sure!Pros: It is rechargeable. Cats can stalk this prey independently around the house. It rolls in a unique pattern every time. It is too big to get stuck under the sofa. It automatically stops after a while on its own.Cons: It’s not quiet since it is made of a hard plastic. You definitely hear it rolling on the hardwood floors and when it’s banging into the floorboards or wooden furniture.I’ve tried many different toys to entertain my indoor only cats and this one is a keeper.

Good toy
My cats were at first leery of this toy but once they got familiar with it they absolutely love chasing it

Great toy for my cat
this is a pretty large ball and it seems sturdy enough. It does move around the room all on its own, I've already lost it a few times. It does have a laser light on there that'll point on the ground. The cat seem to be like what the heck is this and he wasn't so sure at first. but it is something that I can see him getting really into cuz he likes to hit the kids as balls around the house. So now he has one that is actually his with a light on it. Easy to charge easy to use

We can't even give it away
It looks good! Especially at night, it has a red light, rolls by itself bumps something it rolls away. It rolls under a chair or sofa & rolls out itself. It looks great & is well made. One problem. Our cat didn't look twice at it. Neither have any other cats we'd tried giving it away to. No single nor multiple cat homes have had a cat that cared about it at all. Wish I could tell you if any other animal would enjoy it?

Dog's love this cat toy!
Bought this for a 4 month old terrier pup. Keeps him busy, day after day. His favorite toy! Also likes it in a dark room because it lights up, which surprised us. Does not get stuck in corners or behind furniture-it works its way out and is a hoot! Love the USB as we need to recharge every night after pup tires himself out playing with it (and sleeps through the entire night!)

Bit of a gamble.
Seemed like a great idea. We have young cats who LOVE to play. The red light is wide and doesn’t really have the same draw as a laser pointer does.I think the toy is a bit too bulky for the cats to truly bat it around and enjoy it.Our cats were curious about it for about an hour and haven’t looked at it since. So, I would say this toy is a bit of a gamble if your cats like specific toys.

Cat doesn't know whether she likes it or is afraid of it...
Got this for our very energetic and playful young cat since it's been too smokey to let her go outside. She doesn't seem to know what to make of this toy. When we first turn it on, she usually pounces on it a couple times maybe stalks it a little. But after a couple minutes, she will hide from it or watch it suspiciously from afar until we turn it off. I'm not sure if she likes it or is afraid of it. Either way, it certainly occupies her attention.A note about a complaint I've seen on other reviews: Some people are saying the two halves of the ball are too difficult to close, but there's a trick to it. You will never line up the threads like a typical screw top, if you look closely the tracks are all parallel with no beginning or end. You just have to kind of gently force it together as evenly as you can until it clicks and then screw it tight. It's not graceful but it works easily enough.
