Great CD
We bought this CD for our son and niece for their birthdays this year after watching the videos on Noggin. The two of them loved to stomp around to "We Are the Dinosaurs", which isn't even the best song on here, which is saying something. These are different versions of songs we all know, and some really cool originals. The favorites in our house are "I Know a Chicken", "Down Down Baby", "The Cat Came Back", and "I Love My Rooster" (somehow an Octopus made its way into the song once it got here). My niece is as enamored of the CD as my son is, but she's a Doodlebug fan, which is also my husbands favorite. Never having been a fan of Seinfeld (yes, she managed to work Seinfeld into a Children's song, folks, how's that for creative?) I just can't get into that one.Probably shouldn't say this here, but after months of looking I finally located egg-shaped shakers/shakey eggs ("I Know a Chicken") at Kidsurplus.com for around $1. Before that I used Easter eggs from a dollar store with rice in them and taped up with packing tape because they were requested one afternoon. They didn't last too long and made a mess so now I have 4 shakey eggs, enough for all the kids who come over to boogie with the chicken. That song alone is reason enough to buy the CD.Even if you aren't absolutely nuts about the CD on the first run through your child will be, and it will grow on you too.

We Are The Dinosaurs
Laurie Betkner has the kind of voice that np makes you want to get up and move. Along with her guitar, and then you are really moving. My daughter first heard the CD when my granddaughter was in day care. She loved the CD so much she asked her mother to buy it.One of our favorite songs and I think most people's favorites is 'We Are The Dinosaurs'. It is such a fun happy song, and everyone gets up and stomps around the room. In fact some children prefer listening to this music then to play other games.'She'll Be Comin' 'Round the Mountain,' is a song most adults know, and I sing it often, and my granddaughter now knows the words, and sings along. The ABCD Medley is another ipf e eryone's favorites, along with 'Row, Row, Row Your Boat,' 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,'and "Wimoweh ". There is a song for everyone in this CD, and most people like 4 or 5.Recommended. prisrob 06-03-15

Wonderful songs for an active, imaginative young child
My girl is 5 and constantly bee-bopping around/dancing and has a million imaginary friends. This CD is awesome for that kind of kid. The songs almost all lend themselves to action and imagination. If the child doesn't come up with their own actions, the lyrics sometimes includes them in parenthesis or you can easily make them up. It's a nice folksy sound that isn't annoying. Dad even started dancing while doing dishes and the one year old spontaneously claps his hands and stomps his feet on some of them. They are catchy tunes and simple so they are easy to memorize and will catch in your head...whether that becomes a negative later on, I don't know, but the 5 year old loves it a lot.

!!
I was tired of cds of kid songs being performed by kids. In the car, the 102 kids songs by a choir of children who think they are God's gift to music all start sounding the same. I saw a commercial for Laurie on TV and wanted to try her out. I am SOOO happy I did. Her voice and musical talents are great. Also, she mixes songs that you already know with songs you've never heard before which is a nice change. But don't worry about some of the songs being new and that maybe you won't take to them.....they'll become your new favorites. You'll forget all about "I've been working on the railroad" and be all about "Buzz buzz buzz"ing!! I highly recommend! The whole family will love it or at least tolerate it (including dad!)

Laurie Berkner is wonderful!!
Laurie Berkner is by far the best. As a children's librarian I use this CD in all of my programs. My children love it. "Whaddaya Think of That" has songs that motivate the children to participle, songs that are fun and easy to sing. I would highly recommend it for caregivers and professionals alike. I have used this CD not only in my programs at the library but when I go off-site to various schools. And each time I always have a teacher ask me what music do I play and sing and I always say Laurie Berkner. I have no doubt you will love this CD and you will be back for other CD's by her.

More than 5 stars!!!!
I'd rate this CD even higher if I could. Laurie Berkner is seriously the best children's music singer I've heard. She sings in a way that kids just love, and the parents don't get sick of it!!!! I've found myself listening to the CD in the car and singing along with all the songs while running many errands....not once realizing I was listening to kids music with no kids in the car, LOL. The lyrics are easy to remember, they're funny, and some of them even teach something. I buy this CD for every new parent as a baby shower or just plain baby gift :)

A MUST-HAVE for Toddlers
This is the first CD purchased for my son that I have not grown tired of listening to. We recognized a few tunes from a baby music class, tunes like "We Are the Dinosaurs", "Animal Fair", and "These Are My Glasses", all of which my son really enjoys. I love this music because so many songs lend themselves to movement, sign language, and the use of toddler-friendly musical instruments (e.g., drums, shakers). She uses a variety of styles and sprinkles in a few classics, like "She'll Be Comin' Round the Mountain" and a fabulous "ABCD Medley". If you buy one CD for your toddler, buy this one. You'll find yourself singing the songs even when the CD isn't playing!

I Think It's Great!
I first became aware of Laurie Berkner's wonderful music through her appearances on Noggin (the Nick-affiliated children's cable station). My two-year old son loves these songs, and I do to. From the silly to the soulful, the folksy to the bluesy, the mundane to the sublime, Ms. Berkner sings about children's issues with wonderful energy and an unflagging musical sense. (Where else can you find an album that renders a contrapuntal treatment of the items in a Thanksgiving dinner menu?) Music to be enjoyed by adults and children alike.
