Wish it had worked
I had to return it. The instructions started with how to insert the battery, which I couldn't locate. Turns out, the battery was already inserted, which made me suspect it was previously owned and previously returned. It wouldn't turn on, which might have been due to a bad battery, but I decided not to waste my money and time finding out. A great concept, but I can't say definitively if it works or not. I decided to get a cheap prepaid phone instead, as backup to misplacing my main cell phone. Easy enough to just call myself, and has capability for other backup functions.

Battery closing problem
I would have loved this to work but the case wouldnt close. There was a battery already it it. I pressed as hard as I could and tried other means but unless the battery was out it would not close. I complained but nothing was ever done about it. I finally threw it away.

Decent quality but not a lot of value
Phone Finder does what it says it will do and what it's supposed to do. I have no problem with either the hardware or the app. It's quick, responsive, and it seems like it should last quite awhile. It paired quickly and was quite intuitive. The reason for 3- stars has more to do with value.Starting with the basics, if you have someone around who can use their phone to call you, that's your fastest path to your phone. Or if you live alone and also have another tablet around, the Find My Phone app is free and will put you within a couple of feet of your phone, even if the ringer is off. So this app works best and foremost for people who are alone and only have a phone, and you've lost your phone within ear or sight range. That's pretty limiting in my opinion.Of course it also requires that you run the app continuously in the background of your phone. I generally don't do that as it drains resources and battery life. In my experience, running the app cuts about an hour off of battery time. Perhaps this makes more sense for people who lose their phone daily, but I just don't see running an app continuously for the rare occurrence this happens for me. Most of the time I'd likely find that one of the conditions wasn't met and it would do me no good.
