Q: I need a riser for travel only as motel toilets are so low. Suggestions?

This is a great product for travel. the size is important though, some hotels are oval shaped and some may be the classic round.

Q: Does it bolt on or does it just fit down in there?

It has a plastic bolt that screws a plastic clamp to the lip of the stool.

Q: Do I have to remove my existing seat for this?

to use this seat you lift the toilet seat (like when guys use the toilet) and place this one on the open toilet.

Q: Do you have to remove the regular seat to make this work properly?

No you just lift regular seat up and lay this seat right on the toilet this is so awesome it's great when you have had both hip replacements Love it
