The Darwin Awards

Perfect Insight to the Backside of the Bell Curve
The Darwin Awards is a cavalcade of knuckleheads, numbnuts and overall cretins. Really funny! Recommended to me by a friend who was a psychology major. This started off as a book, which is interesting.

Features a cameo with Adam & Jamie from Myth Busters
Rehash of some "dumb news" stories. Features a cameo with Adam & Jamie from Myth Busters and some footage from their show.. Interesting if you like a bit of nostalgia with your evening beer. Overall not a bad movie just a little too familiar in spots.

True to the spirit of the Darwin awards
I personally really enjoyed this movie. But you have to be a little bit careful what company you play it in. The language can be a little bit rough and one of the situations is off-color enough to not want to show it to your parents. That being said I thought it was hilarious but I have an eclectic sense of humor..

Really funny, weird movie!
I ordered this awhile ago, but I only got around to watching it today. As a fan of the Darwin Awards, I've wanted to see this movie for as long as I've known it existed (somehow, I missed it when it was originally released), and it didn't disappoint. Some classic Darwin Awards are reenacted here, and there are some truly hilarious moments (like Adam and Jamie from Mythbusters appearing to sell a man a JATO rocket). If you're a fan of the Darwin Awards, then this is a movie worth watching.

Hilarious!
If you're a fan of the written "Darwin Awards", you'll *love* this movie!! The stories are familiar DA stories brought to life in a very entertaining way with both Joseph Feinnes and Wynona Ryder providing the "glue" that holds all the stories together. If you're in need of some good solid belly laughs, this movie will provide them! (Caution: If you're not into "macabre humor", skip this one.)

I liked this movie.
This is a good movie to watch, I reccommend renting it-or buying it. It's incredable to see the unbelievable ways people have died, doing some really stupid things. If you've never heard of the "Darwin Awards" before, google it. it's very interesting. I like this this movie, I give 2 thumbs up.

hysterically funny. Made my top ten most-memorable movies list
Quirky, entertaining and , in parts, hysterically funny. Made my top ten most-memorable movies list.

Okay but rather bland
Not exactly my cup of tea. I saw the trailer and thought it would be a lot funnier than it was. The theme was quite original with insurance assessors getting to grips with the more 'unusual occurrences'. If you like 'middle of the road, safe' then maybe you'll enjoy it. Personally, I was disappointed as I like a bit more oomph to my films - I didn't laugh once, but maybe that's my sense of humour.

Suprisingly much better than previous reviews I've read.
I adore the series of books but was a little concerned because of some of the previous reviews I'd read.Being a bit of a risk I expected to be disappointed in this film, however hubby and I were delightfully surprised. The acting quality was outstanding in the film.. don't get me wrong, its not going to win oscars but everyone was believable. It had a much better story line than expected too.All in all it had us both falling about with laughter. If you like the books, then definitely give this film ago. It's not expensive and in my humble opinion its definitely good value for money :)

A wasted opportunity and rather a waste of money.
With a plot-line based around the story of some of the more bizarre Darwin Award winners, (including the urban myth of the rocket assisted Chevy); this had the potential to be one of the funniest films ever. However, poor script writing absolutely ruined it, so that it is essentially no more than a series of "Jackass" style sketches. Mildly amusing to watch once, but disappointingly not great comedy.

Pretty funny and well produced comedy
I liked it more than I expected given the luke-warm to negative reviews I'd read. It's quite funny, has a co-herent plot weaving together it's collection of amusing deaths of complete and utter nincompoops, and in terms of movie craft (dialogue, pace, special effects, sound, lighting, narration etc) is in all respects quite respectable. Noteably for Mythbusters fans, Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage put in a brief appearance.

Fun and funny
This film stitches together a number of anecdotes from the Darwin Awards website into a somewhat episodic story. It's fun to watch how some people have removed themselves from the gene pool by doing incredibly stupid things. If Schadenfreude is what makes your day, this is for you.
