Good solid construction.
The ball joint looks like it can handle the larger mirror quite well, and can be adjusted. The tack welds on the back of the mirror case look solid, and the handle is well made and telescopes well. Works great for aircraft inspection, it still fits in most inspection holes and saves time by letting you see more with one look. I made the mistake of buying the extra long, which only compacts to a 12 in length, will be getting a shorter one in the future.

Great inspection mirror
I'm a ship inspector and have to survey welds and misc. things onboard ships. Sometimes things are hard to see and most mirrors are too small. This mirror provides a viewing area and is portable enough for me to carry.

Should be in all toolboxes
This extendable mirror or one like it should be in every toolbag or box.It may not be needed frequently but very handy to have one available to check hard to reach (and see) locations. The metal barrel is not hard steel so care should be taken not to step on it or place heavy objects on it but it's possible to bend it back in shape somewhat so that it will function again

Nice Addition to The Toolbox
Used this yesterday in inspect an area there was no other way I could do it otherwise. Works really well. It's one of those things that you won't need it often, but when you do it's indespensable. Keep on on hand, it doesn't take up much storage space

Update : QC needs its cage rattled!
2021-08-04 Update :I purchased several more of these inspection mirrors earlier this year. I had given a couple to welders and to fellow inspectors. When I opened the packaging on the remaining unit, I was surprised that the mirror head separated from the handle, fell to the floor, and broke. As you might be able to see in the second photo, part of the hinge was cracked / bent and useless.:-(I purchased three of these mirrors in January 2020. I use one on a daily basis as Certified Welding Inspector. They are fairly rugged but two of the three have suffered the same fate : the spot-weld securing the mirror housing fails. The last thing that I need is to have the mirror fall off 40-stories above the ground. I did manage to catch the second one.I have taken to applying some JB Weld epoxy to the joint as a pre-emptive strike. So far, that has worked.

A solid tool
These mirrors great -- solidly built, made to last. They are less expensive and of higher quality than those you'd find in hardware or big box stores. The fully extended shaft feels almost like a single, solid rod; the cheaply made mirrors wobble around when extended, which turns out to be quite annoying. I will only purchase these from now on.

Works great. I painted the back and I use it as a measuring stick reflector for my laser measure.
