E-Z LOK Knife Threaded Insert for Soft Wood, Zinc Hex-Flush Thread Inserts M8-1.25 Internal Threads, 20mm Length Pack of 25

Bought some furniture from Wayfair that was missing hardware. This was a relatively easy replacement.

Used to repair a wooden table in our kitchen. The table had a MDF board glued the bottom of a solid wood top, so the inserts themselves were threaded into the MDF, not the hardwood. Drilled out the existing inserts which were undersized, then stepped up to a 7/16" drill for the final hole size. The inserts were very easy to install and are holding very strong. Very pleased.

These worked perfectly. Sharp enough to pierce the wood and sits pretty tight. Used on HD whitewood pine and plywood.

Got a 5/16" allen wrench from my local hardware store for less than $2 for installation, saved 80% vs the specialized tool they try to sell you to install these. Table is much sturdier now.

Used these in an oak table top I made to attach the legs and even though they say not for use in hardwood they worked great and I’ve had no problems.

I practiced installing the insert in wood a couple of times to get the correct size hole. When I went to install the insert it was in a plastic ball the hex socket failed. I couldn't drive it further in or remove it. The plastic ball may have been harder than the wood or I may have weakened the socket by practicing. I salvaged it by grinding off the protruding portion of the insert. It works well for my intended use.

I bought these to use furniture leg I bought from Ikea. They worked perfect. It was a square leg, so orientation is important. You can either tighten or back of the insert to get the leg square. So perfect. There are made in Asia, and shipped from there. So plan for a slight delay in delivery. I got mine in less that a week. They're inexpensive and locally I'm hard pressed to find metric inserts like these.
