Stay Calm, Instructions Are Provided Below For Easy Install
The media could not be loaded. It really isn’t as hard as it looks in the instructions. It was easy to remove the old weatherstripping, and does not add any noise when driving. It is very good value, and safely secures my roof bag very well after a first use.FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO INSTALL IT, THE INSTRUCTIONS ARENT GREAT. HERE IS THE STEP BY STEP ON HOW TO INSTALL IT PROPERLY.Follow these steps:Vehicle is a 2015 Ford Escape SE1. Remove weatherstrip current on vehicle.2. Remove front and rear plastic anchors by removing the bolt in the middle of the mount. Note: The center plastic anchors must remain in place.3. Cut 11 3/4 inches off both ends of the original weather strip.4. Put the original weather strip back, snapping it into the center anchor. Then, use the foam pads included in the box to protect the vehicle from the ends of the weatherstrip where it was cut. Use more if you’d like under the original weatherstrip, but only two are required.5. Connect the new plastic anchors to the ends of the rail, both sides. Screw tight.6. Put the plastic matting in the correct spot. If it doesn’t feel right, it probably isnt. Try another until it is a good fit. This is important.7. Tap the two holes in your metal roof to receive the new bolts.8. Put the included silicone in all of the holes. There should be two for each anchor, 8 in total.9. Remove the center hole from the foam and place them over the area where the bolt will go through.10. Secure properly.11. Cover the ends with the plastic covers.12. Clean up any mess if you don't want an upset wife.I included a video of my dad and I installing it. We also installed an O2 sensor, hence the hood being up. There is nothing under the hood you will need for this install. For the money, this is actually super nice and durable. It fits perfectly, it was easy to install once I figured out what the instructions were trying to say, and functionally, it works very well.

a GAMBLE, but they work if you have the tools to install
They look great! They look like my car came this way. Absolutely 0 directions. The parts are labeled in Chinese, BUT once we figured it out things went smoothly. you need way more tools than provided, we had those on hand though. We did have to drill holes in the roof which was nerve wracking, but my roof hasn’t leaked and its rained quite a lot.I waited to do my review until I actually used the rack. It seems sturdy and the cross bars fit nicely. The best part is that I save almost $500 by taking a chance on these. If you don’t have someone who knows cars and tools….I would not suggest buying these unless you’re taking them to a shop to be put on. It was a gamble, I was concerned they wouldn’t fit.

Have Patience with the Instructions
When it says "leather strip" that means the factory installed plastic trim. Remove the front and rear undertrim and leave the center one. You will remove (1) screw but when installing the bars you will use (2) in each. When it says "cotton backing" that means the peel off foam pads. After removing the factory plastic trim, cut off 11-3/4" from each end (30cm). You may have some difficulty with the screws, as the instructions say, we used a TEC screw to form threads, otherwise the factory screws may strip out. You can use a tap, match the threads which are fine. Before snapping on the ends, make sure you have the Left-RIght-Front-Back since if you make a mistake they are extremely difficult to remove (but removable using two flat screwdrivers carefully). Overall a nice looking and very sturdy set.

Cheap
Terrible product. Extremely difficult to install, without useless instructions. Parts did not fit well together and the end pieces kept popping off until one finally flew off on the highway, leaving the rack looking terrible. I asked OCPTY to send out another piece even offering to pay for it, and they refused. DO NOT BUY!

Roof rails
These roof rails were super easy to install and they look good! Unit comes with everything you need to install including sealant. If you don't already have them you'll need a pair of tin snips.

Fit my 2014 Ford Escape
Installation wasn't too difficult, it took about an hour. The instructions were a little odd, but it's pretty straightforward. The parts were labeled in Chinese as far as which one goes on (Front Left) or (Back Right), so I used Google Translate and on those parts and was able to do the install with minimal problems.I do recommend as the other reviews have said to have a metric tap and die set. I had to chase 2 of the 8 threads to get them mounted properly. It's M6x1 threads and I was doing that just to be careful and not cross the threads. My car had been in the weather so I can't fault the kit for the threads on my car needing to be cleaned. You may need to do the same. Other than that installation was easy. I'd recommend these.

I had little faith, but they actually work and look great.
I just installed these on my 2015 Ford Escape. Not bad for the price. Really hate how expensive roof racks are in general, so I took a gamble on these. As other reviews have mentioned, the included instructions are worthless, so I followed the directions someone left in one of the reviews, and everything turned out perfect. You will need an M6x1.00 tap to tap the extra holes in your roof for these racks. I was really intimidated by the fact that you have to drill and tap new holes in your roof, until I realized that the holes are there (just covered by paint) and all you have to do is gouge out the paint, and then use your tap to thread the existing holes. I’ve included a picture of the existing hole beneath the paint, and a picture of the same hole after being threaded.I assume these covered holes are here because the models of the ford escape that do have roof racks would need these holes.Anyways, I was just happy that it actually worked. As far as the build quality, they aren’t like super beefy, but they aren’t crappy either. For the price, I would say they are very solid. I ordered some crossbars to fit onto these rails, and we will see how they do carrying my kayak. If they felt sturdier, and had actual instructions, this would be a five star review.
