Feathers!
2019 Mattel Jurassic World Dino Rivals “Attack Pack” MononykusWhen Mononykus was revealed to be one of the species scheduled for Mattel’s Dino Rivals lineup, I was very happy. This bizarre little theropod has only been captured in figure form one other time, as far as I’m aware. I was even more excited when I saw the final product, because it is the first Jurassic World figure to sport fully formed feathers. Those feathers are very well done, with lots of minute detail. As this figure is based on the statues seen in Lockwood Manor in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the feathers are limited to the arms and tail. The rest of the body is covered in fine scalation. My favorite touch is that the top of the tail is scaled all the way to the very tip, with the feathers growing only from the sides and bottom. The paint scheme is very nice. The main body is a blue-grey with dark flecks. The head and stripes are a dark purplish (The pattern design reminds me of a baby Emu), the feet are a bird-like orange, and it has a reddish patch on the throat. It has bright yellow eyes with round bird-like pupils. They are very well painted on my figure, with only very minor sloppiness on the left side. Unfortunately, the claws are not painted, including the namesake arm claws. The teeth are also left unpainted.Articulations are limited, as is usual with the “Attack Pack” range. The arms and legs move forward and back, the neck moves up and down in the same manner as the Gallimimus figures, and the tail can rotate. This is among the best of the “Attack Pack” range. A few imperfections keep it from being my favorite, but it’s still a must buy. I hope Mattel continues this trend of introducing kids and collectors to more obscure species. I also hope they get a chance to make a fully feathered dinosaur soon as well, because they’ve proven that they’re capable of making some high quality feather sculpts.

A little dinosaur
A little small, the picture makes it look bigger but it’s a good gift.

Pay less or don’t get it
Super small for what it is. Doesn’t do much. Worth $6 maybe

Hey, it's good to go! It is such a great figure!
I am an amateur paleontologist and I have purchased this to do research. I was very impressed by the figures overall appearance. I will also use it for diaromas. I highly recommend this figure!

Can you guess which picture I took first and which one I took last?
This reminds me of “leave the tag on, wear it once then return it”.I bought this for my younger brother, for his birthday. He isn’t stupid.... he’s going to know this has obviously been opened and touched, possibly played with or switched out for some cheaper version. Not only does the item feel extremely cheap but it was easily taken out and put back into its “packaging”. All without needing to add any more tape to it. Yes. I received it like this. Wrapped up with some clear tape. Whom ever did tape this item got the job done... the toy is obviously in the “box”. I’m just glad I didn’t choose to have it wrapped up as a gift and had just given it to my brother without inspection.I do LOVE the ironic “new” sticker that is placed on the back.My brother, whom I purchased this for, unfortunately is a very high risk for COVID-19. I’m not able to take him out of the house to go shopping for a replacement.Do I sanitize it? Spend an hour or so trying to make it look like no one has sabotaged it?Or do I just hope I am able to return it in this... condition, that I received it?I don’t usually write reviews but I do read the reviews of other people. I hope this experience can at least benefit someone else.
