Good fun but you need a Brio Smart Train
We bought this and the new blue smart train for my 5 year old son. The first bridge was faulty but amazon replaced within 48hrs, the second one was fine. It's pretty fun for my son. The train stops, flashes it's lights and makes a stopping sound when the bridge is up and then the train automatically goes over when you lower the bridge down.The bridge looks pretty sturdy and well built. The electrical for the interactive smart stuff works via little switches activated by the bridge raising and lowering into place. On that basis probably not so suitable for younger kids that might fiddle with them.You do need the Brio smart train to make the smart stuff work, otherwise it's just an expensive bridge!

Sturdy Brio item
Good sturdy product as you expect from Brio. It’s a shame that the bridge doesn’t lift itself when the train comes etc but you have to do it manually, all that is “smart” about it is that the train toots when approaching the bridge if it is open for you to close it so it can cross.
