Actually use the full build volume of a CR 10 S5
AMAZING, Worth every penny (and its a pretty penny. Like added half the initial cost to my machine).Running on a CR 10S S5. Added a E3D Volcano Heat Block and Nozzle (1.0mm at first) - bolts right on. Cartridge style thermistor and heat cartridge indluded with DDS slipped right in to the Volcano Block. Bondtech provided an STL file for a Volcano Block part cooling fan (as the nozzle sits lower than the V6 nozzle).Like I said - unleash the BIG PART printing power of your S5. I bought this because CURA gave me a time estimate of 12 DAYS for a part with a 0.5mm Nozzle on the Creality Mk.8 hot end. With the Volcano Nozzle on the DDS - 1 Day 3 hours.Yes - you can run a volcano on other bowden style extruders. But you won't WANT to. The DDS really handles the high volume flow supurb. Your gonna be chewing through the filament with the fat nozzle and tall layer heights. The DDS never misses a beat. Flow, Retractions, everything about it are great. And the Marlin 1.9 flash (supplied by Bondtech) is tuned for it and really makes some nice upgrades in itself. Noticed quicker bed and nozzle heating. The filiment sensor/print restart actually functions now. Auto-load and unload of filament is so nice. All around a great product. Single best upgrade available for the CR 10. (Not my words - did ALOT of research before buying this thing - Here to tell you; the "hype" is REAL)

Great upgrade
I was nervous with upgrade on my CR-10S because this is almost as much as the entire printer but it has proven to be a good call. I have about 100 hours of print time on it so far. It did have some ghosting issues with the firmware update but that was fixed with accel and jerk control adjustments in the slicer. The quality of the extruder and hot end is great. I did have a problem with leakage on the top side of the heater block but fixed that by screwing the heater block higher onto the thermal break adapter. The temperature set point is very accurate. When a filament calls out 230C and I set the nozzle to 230C the print quality and layer adhesion are as expected. I had problems with the stock hot end and the all metal hot end where if the filament called for 230C, I had to set the nozzle to 240C just to get good layer adhesion. I had a few times with the stock extruder where the filament would get snagged and then stop feeding but the machine doesn't know because the filament detector does not trip since it thinks there is still filament feeding. With the Bondtech extruder if the filament snags, it just snaps the filament and pulls it through the filament detector which saves the print because it pauses until you can get it fixed. It is a heavy upgrade for the CR-10S so eventually I want to change the x-axis to a linear slide to help support the weight.

Great all-in-one direct drive solution
This is a great all-in-one direct drive solution for the CR-10S. It combines products from two of the biggest names, Bondtech for the extruder and E3D for the hotend, into one easy solution. It has worked flawlessly for me since installing it a couple of months ago.
