Still going 2 years later.
This thing is quite cool. It entirely lights up my house, which is 60' wide with the garage. I've definitely noticed several cars stopping to watch the snow fall. Works best on areas that you don't have lit up. I will confirm that it is rain proof. I put the light and ball unit on a couple of weather-resistant boards for stability. I would definitely buy again.Edited to add that I recently got a second light and the difference is amazing. Make sure and place the lights as far back as you can from the ball to make the light flakes on the house as small as possible and slow the ball down to barely moving. It looked decent before, but it's really noticeable now. As far as being weather proof, it survived our recent big rain/wind Pineapple Express event in the Pacific Northwest just fine.Edited to add: Wow. I'm not sure about these other reviews of this failing, because 2 years on mine still works perfectly. Yes, it is basically a disco ball in a box, but it still works. I've mounted the lights to a piece of 2x6 board for stability and I place the box on another 2x6. It's survived all sorts of weather. There's a little rust on the light adjustment screws. That's it. And as I've said earlier, to get the best effect you need to add another light. I'm tempted to pair this with one of those new lasers just to see the effect. Anyway, I can only report my personal experience and I'm quite satisfied with this product.

Cute but not great. Nice addition.
I had a crappy cheap projector last year to jazz up the boring side of my house but it broke before Christmas even hit. I thought this looked like a neat idea so I went with it and it works pretty well. I’m projecting it onto a flat wall so it’s not as dynamic looking as some of the other reviews. Also it very obviously projects larger circles further up the house and smaller circles down at the bottom. Again though - I’m projecting on a flat side of a house that’s three stories tall. There aren’t any windows or doors on this side of my house except at the tippy top either so this really was a great option for adding some charm. For what it is I feel like it’s a little overpriced. Also the box was quite dirty like it’s been sitting on a shelf for a decade or so. I don’t mind that though. It’s been through a pretty hefty rainstorm so far and is holding up well. Seems like a quality product and I find the disco ball really charming.

This is a must have
The media could not be loaded. I had one of these years ago and gave it away ~ was so excited to see it again for sale.No one else has one around me and at night- I’m the only one who has a ‘snowfall’ effect on my house- awesome!

CHELSEA HOME Light Flurries - Realistic Snow Effect
This item does NOT work as illustrated. I set it up following the easy directions. Waited until after dark to turn it on. Just some strange blobs of light that were so faint as to be almost invisible. After moving the unit to 12 different directions with no improvement. I gave up. To explain my issue with this, I had installed a new and very dark garage door in anticipation of this idea. I tried it on my neighbors white garage door to no avail. The worst of this is that I live in a small town with almost no street lights. I can easily see the milky way so I know it is not the surrounding light that makes this item nearly invisible. It is a waste of money but I am so grateful to Amazon for their prompt return and refund. Thank you once again Amazon!

Unique
We didn't want to do a whole lot of decorating for Christmas this year. So, we stuck this contraption outside and let it snow. It worked rain or dry. Just some tips: My husband sat it on top of a pallet to keep it from being directly on the ground and he anchored it to the pallet because it's a little lightweight. It has drain holes of its own, though. Also, he had to adjust it a few times at the start to get the right sized snow flakes to suit his taste. Also, if your house juts out here and there, the effect is uneven as it relates to recessed areas versus the outer areas. If you are too close, you might miss the roof. If you are too far away, the flakes get too big. Also, if you try to cover a very long house, the best effect is front and center of it. We saw this and decided to go for the best flakes front and center and we boosted the far ends of the house with a few inexpensive pre-lit trees with white lights from Walmart-mart. Our house, this year, had the most unique presentation. When we rode a certain train to the North Pole, the same light show was on Santa's house.

ran too fast
I am not sure if it would have looked nice because the speed control on mine was stuck on fast. It looked like it had potential to be really pretty. Thankfully the company that makes it refunded my money for my purchase, or I would have been out $60 and had some lights that looked pretty psychedelic on my trees and house, and not very much like falling snow. Wished it would have worked right. I really wanted something special for when my grandkids came over on Christmas! If you get one that works correctly, I am sure it looks pretty cool, so therefore I could not give it a total thumbs down.

Definitely Not Worth the Money
I generally don't write bad reviews of products or services. Takes a lot to get me to that point. "Chelsea" pushed me over the edge.First, the effect is not what I expected. The light is too dim to be seen when used along with even minimal christmas lights in operation. The effect produced is more like blobs of light moving down your wall than actual snowflakes. The second accessory LED light helps to improve the effect if you tweak it properly, but the LED fixtures don't have ground spikes (they sit on small, weighted bases), as a result, the lights wobble and are easily toppled when they are placed on a lawn. The unit died after less than a week of use. No light, no motor, blows GFCI circuit breaker when I attempt to turn it on. I am going to attempt to contact the vendor and seek a refund, but after some of the comments I've seen here, Im not holding my breath.
