Mandala Magic: Amazing Mandalas to Color Paperback – February 1, 2015

I just received this magnificent book and cannot wait to start enjoying it. I read all the other reviews before placing my order and it is exactly as I expected. The mandalas are exquisitely designed. Many are very intricate so it looks like I'm going to be needing to go get my new glasses, which I've been putting off ordering, in order to thoroughly enjoy the really fine detail in some of these. The book is well put together, appears to be of very good quality. I photo copied some of the pictures so I could enjoy coloring these designs multiple times and the book was easy to flatten out for that purpose. Therefore I believe it will be very easy to flatten and color in should I opt to do that at some point. The images are printed on front and back so I'm thinking for now, pencils or gel pens would be the way to go if actually coloring in the book. I plan to order some Prismacolor markers in the near future as I have read they do not bleed through as most other markers do. I will update this review once I have ordered them and tried them out on this paper to see if they live up to that claim. This is most definitely NOT a children's book. If you are a coloring enthusiast and are looking for something more detailed and challenging than you have run across before, this is a book you will be very likely to enjoy. I love the Dover books but have been ready to step it up a notch or three and I believe this will offer the challenge I've been looking for. I can see these designs will be something that will allow me many hours of stress therapy and enjoyment. One last note - some of these pages have multiple mandalas on them and you will have the option to color with a white background or black background giving an entirely different look and feel to your coloring experience. I would most definitely recommend this - and as a matter of fact, likely will be recommending this to several people by the end of the day! Great buy! Packaged extremely well for shipping. Mandalas are my favorite coloring products, and this Mandala Magic is now my favorite book. I like the way the designs appear with both white and black backgrounds, offering different looks. I know that black can be a problem in some publications, but not in this one. The edges are smooth and don't rub off. I am having a great time with these. Some take all day and some take only an hour, which works for my various days.

I was tempted to give this five stars but a few things prevent me. The designs on the whole are intricate and worthwhile. Some are on white backgrounds and some are on black - which really pop when you color them. The pages are good quality but are not perforated for easy removal. To it's credit there are about 78 pages of mandalas to color and all are very nice. The two main drawbacks are this: The images are printed on both sides of the paper which eliminates all coloring media except for colored pencils and gel pens. It would be nice if coloring book publishers realized that we need the images on single sided paper only. This can be overcome by using a copier to print an image out onto 90lb printer paper for coloring so you don't ruin the image on the other side if you want use markers. But this will use a lot of ink up especially on the black background images so is not ideal. The second drawback is while many of the images are very intricate they are also extremely small in detail. I can handle very small detail areas and I wonder if some of this will be too small even for me. I usually use gel pens in these areas but am wondering if the areas on some images are even too small for gel pens or fine points. Not every image is this detailed but the cover gives a good idea of what you're going to get. I am rating it four stars because I'm forced to print out the images onto other paper to avoid ruining the images on the backside. But on the whole I like the amount of detail and the sheer number of images given to color.

This is the most beautiful adult coloring book I own, and I own a LOT of them. Some pages are black on white while others are white on black (super cool and exciting). My only complaint is that the pages are double sided, publishers need to realize we want single sided coloring books. But since the designs are so luscious and beautiful it still deserves 5 stars.

I have been enamored with adult coloring books for about 3 months now and have acquired 3 books so far. After buying this book and starting it, it has quickly become my favorite one! The pages are of a thick card stock type material which I love because it allows my marker ink to just glide across the paper. My favorite thing of all would have to be the addition of the black pages with the white designs which my 2 other books don't have (see my included colored picture). These pictures just pop off the pages! My only critique would be that the designs are not one per page but are printed back to back. I wanna color and frame them all!

Love these! The book is a gift for the girl I babysit, but I've always enjoyed coloring in smaller shapes, and particularly the pattern pictures. She's recently gotten into similar interests, and we saw this at the craft store (for more money). I think she's going to enjoy it. I also like that some of them are backed in white, but others in black; good contrast.

Hours and Hours of fun. I started a couple of these in the last few weeks and I am very happy. They are so delicate and intricate it literally takes you mind off of everything else. Very nice way to relax and unwind. I would recommend these for anyone who might be bedridden or possible stuck somewhere that could be boring for a bit. POssibly a long plane ride. Very happy with the purchase.

This came in time expected. It's a beautiful book full of intricate designs of all types. some are on black background pages, others on white background. The black background is easier to stay in the lines, and covers mistakes more readily. But, it's pretty enough to cut out pages, just as they are, and frame them to go with décor.

Some beautiful designs. Sadly the paper won't take markers, they bleed through and spoil the designs on the other side.Good with gel pens though. I haven't tried pencils yet.

I love it. I use markers and color pencils and I have no problem with them. The paper is smooth and I love that some pages have a black background that makes the coloring look different and beautiful.
