will this fit regular blurays that have a cardboard slip cover?

A regular blu-ray with a slip should fit perfectly. A steelbook with no slip also fits nicely. However, a steelbook with a slip is impossible to get in the protective cover. I purchased for a steelbook with slip, will have to repurchase the brand I bought previously.

How hard is it to remove the protector in order to watch your movie?

Just open the bottom instead of the top of the protector makes it far easier. It is very easy to damage the top tab trying to get it out, unless you are using some type of tool. The bottom on the other hand does not have a tab at all holding it in, so it opens right up and allows you to slide your steelbook out.

I have a steelbook that is autographed, would this preserve the autograph?

It should however caution should be used if removing it from the plastic sleeve since it is a snug fit.

How do you get these to lie flat? Each one I’ve put together is arched on the back leaving room for dust to enter in one of the corners.

when putting a new movie in these I work the flaps back and forth before putting the movie in. usually folding them all outwards, then inward towards the steelbook usually does the trick. I own at least 25 steelbooks, so I've had a little practice.
