Worth the read!
I really enjoyed reading this story that started the Younger series. Reading the book after watching the show, you can see how the book details were used in some of the early episodes. The show may take on a life of its own, but reading the book you can see why the show creators were inspired. I also recommend reading Pamela Redmond’s second book based on the series, “Older.” It ties the relationship between the original book, show, and second book together nicely. The author cleverly intertwined the three stories and it was fun to read!

Interesting twist
Intriguing. Enjoyable to read. Not too complicated But the story moves along. The characters could be more developed. Hope you enjoy it

Younger fan
I discovered Younger on Hulu and new I need to check out the book version along with the book mentions, Marriage Vacation and The Miseducation of Henry Cane. There are many differences from the show but the book doesn't disappoint. I myself am in the middle age of Alice's two personas and found it a good quick read. After realizing the book was written over ten years years, and since updated to fit modern times, some things stood out like her cooking with recipe cards, it made her sounds more like 60 and older but hey what I would not give to get back to those simpler times when a recipe was just that and not an entire blog. Overall sweet book and looking forward to the "Older" release this summer. And of course season 7 of the show.

Younger, but not better...
This book is easy to relate to, witty, comedic and loaded with titbits of the publishing world – a great recipe for a bookworm. In fact I enjoyed the book magnanimously - I did not put it down. The narrative is light and easy to relate to. I had issues with some of Alice’s decisions and behaviour at times, and at others, quietly whispering ‘YES!’ However, I got the distinct impression that a bitter old lady was at the keyboard trying to make her point that getting old was not a bad thing… and it rubbed me against the grain. The whole way, the protagonist, Alice, came about her decision to portray a younger version of herself felt unjustified and wishy-washy. It continued for a great length in the book. You do get some of the hilarious moments that had me clutching my sides, and I would have liked to read more of those scenes other than Alice lamenting over her age. Either that, or give her a bit more substance and drive, increase the stakes in her endeavour to conceal her age and keep her job… just sayin.’ That would have detracted from the feeling I got of Alice ‘playing pretend’ and have much to lose. There was some character stereotyping that annoyed the hell out of me – and the ending, although satisfying, it did little to challenge those preconceived personality types… which is kinda the point of the story right? (Don’t worry, I’m not spoiling you). Speaking of the ending: the last quarter of the book picks up the pace (especially the last five chapters) and was compelling.Overall, a great book, could have been thought out better, but something I’ll definitely recommend to my friends. Also a great companion to the tv series that has finished its first season (and optioned for a second). It falls under the easy summer read category, fun but not to be taken too seriously.

Love the book and tv show!
I am glad I read the book especially after watching the show. It gave context to the tv show characters and helped me enjoy the story more. I am rewatching the show and plan to read the book, Older soon!

Light, feel-good novel
I’ve seen a couple of episodes of this show and thought I should check out the book. It’s a funny and enjoyable story, and just about plausible, giving hope to people who might like a kind of do-over.

Loved the concept
Loved the concept. Usually, I am not a huge fan of first person, but this was a fun, quick, and clever read. Love the TV series on TVland.

Great chick flick
Great chick flick, just sit back and enjoy. No brains necessary. Wonderful casting, each character blends well with the others. On the other side of the spectrum, a half an hour each week is not enough viewing time to substain you for a whole week. All in all, kudos to TV Land on this one. # 2 on my tv must watch list. With Game of Thrones still #1.

Roman gegen Drehbuch

Libro vs. Serie tv

Impulsive Whim
Over the weekend, I sat, with my family and binge watched part of the series, that was based upon this book. To my family's surprise, though not mine, I enjoyed what I had seen so far. Knowing that it was unlikely that I would see any further episodes, wanting to know how the story ends, I got a copy of this book and read it.I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Younger is a hard book to put down. It is as described, a laugh out loud romantic comedy. If you are into Rom coms, the Younger is just the ticket. Does this generation use the phrase, just the ticket? The themes ventured in this book will appeal to women both younger and older. It addresses issues that challenge many women, of all ages on a daily basis. Oh, yes, and some men too. I had several moments to reflect on many of the themes discussed. Younger gave me insights into modern life. Satran manages to be deep and meaningful, warm and fuzzy, humorously funny and refreshingly straightforward. This is why the pages kept turning.Sometimes my impulses are rewarding.
