Great choice for Calif King bed
Purchased this to replace a less-expensive adjustable frame I had purchased a few months ago at a local warehouse club. As with socks and hats, it turns out that "one-size-fits-all" doesn't work with bedframes, either. The cheaper adjustable frame (versions of which are sold on Amazon and elsewhere under various brand names) is not really satisfactory for larger beds, as it has no horizontal center cross-rail, doesn't completely support the boxsprings vertically (the vertical rail installs at a slight diagonal to only partially support each of the two boxsprings, which causes concern as to eventual life-shortening stress on the boxsprings), and doesn't have a center caster, making moving the bed difficult. The result was a wobbly and rattly bed. This Serta Stabl-Base, in contrast, is exactly what I needed. It was extremely easy to assemble with no nuts & bolts; the components slide into place. The casters were slightly tight to insert into their sockets, but once the bed was assembled they "thunked" fully into place the first time I sat on the bed. The bed is now very stable with none of the wobbliness or rattling sounds that plagued the cheaper frame. Delivery via Amazon Prime was great; ordered on Saturday and received on Monday. Some reviewers of other sizes of this frame have complained about the packaging. Mine came in a fully staple-sealed Serta product box which itself was enclosed with brown packaging paper inside a larger brown box which was sealed with packaging tape. The tape was slightly loose (which may account for others' complaints) but was not open in any way, and in any case had the external box broken, the components were safely sealed inside the internal product box.

Stable Base
The previous bed frame for my king-sized bed didn't have a middle horizontal bar or its associated wheels. The horizontal bars slid together. It was shaky at best. After a few years, the middle pieces began to come apart and got rickety. This bed frame has the additional bar and wheels, as noted, giving it more strength. All bars are solid metal from one end to the other. Heavily-fused vertical & horizontal pieces set into each other and solid corners. No cheap soldered pieces to end up separating or bolts to loosen. Two locking wheels and eight rotating wheels are included. The instructions do not notate that there are different types of wheels and I did not notice until the mattress was already in place. The bed moves slightly when the dog jumps up on the bed because I have a smooth, wooden floor. I placed rubber furniture coasters under the wheels and this stopped all movement. The additional bed height will take some getting used to since I had the mattress on the floor for the past year until I got around to purchasing this frame. The sturdiness of this frame should last longer than the life of the bed. No more worries about the mattress falling through the separating frame!

Good frame, poor packaging
The frame itself seems sturdy and is nicely designed for tool-less assembly. That being said, the package arrived with a number of rips and tears (parts of the frames sticking out here and there), the frame itself was scratched in several places and bent in a couple - completely understandable for heavier pieces of metal in a box without any type of internal packaging. We had to take a mallet to s few pieces and some pliers to bend back some tabs, but it all came together in the end. If you are the type of person that believes that an item purchased as new should look like new, I would seriously reconsider purchasing this product from the Marketplace seller, Home and Living. For us, we figured that this time it was more hassle than it it was worth to return and replace. That being said, the next one of these will be bought locally or from a seller than actually has some concern for the product they ship.

Design or manufacturing issue!
People,,,are we reviewing the same product?? I purchased SER-4069BR for my California King mattress+boxspring and I regret being so careless about trusting other reviewers. Pros: None.. Cons: 1. Corners are bent so the box spring does not fit properly 2. Not all wheels are touching the floor even if they are well inserted to the frame (misalignment issue) 3. When I roll over in bed, the frame makes a groaning noise 4. Wheels are made of cheap plastic with almost no friction so the wheel-locks are completely useless on hardwood floors 5. One clasp was completely bent so I had to use a huge hammer + pliers to make it fit to another part. I strongly doubt that this kinda bent occurred during the shipping. This should be an manufacturing or poor QA issue. 6. The worst thing is it's very heavy and sending this junk back to the seller would cost me nearly half the cost of the frame. I would rather trash this in a garbage bin. My suggestion: Just buy a cheaper/lighter frame, and if it's defective, send it back to the seller.

Not worth the price
1 Star Lost due to 2/10 legs coming broken. Not unusable in their broken state, but they separate freely from the metal peg that they attach to the rest of the frame with. Indicative of some poor quality control issues perhaps. Too many moving parts on the feet to begin with, they seem flimsy, on top of being plastic. Sturdy frame but cheap feet makes me feel like they cut some corners in design here (but not price). 2nd Star lost because packaging was nil... A long cardboard box, clearly labeled with what it contained, metal parts inside all unsecured and clanging together, chipping their paint at the ends, edges and corners, smashing the plastic bag holding all the plastic feet (probably why some where broken). Last star is deducted because the price for this item went up $40 in m cart right before checkout but it seemed like a solid construction and Serta was a name I knew of so I bit the bullet, a mistake, to be sure. Having assembled the item now, I think it should have been reduced $40 bucks instead as I would not pay more than $100 for this frame in retrospect.

Sturdy but didn't meet expectation
It was easy to assemble and it is sturdy, but it is painted and not finished so the frame looks old and worn before you even use it once. The box was broken and torn upon delibevery. The metal pieces were sticking out. There was no type of packing material to protect the frame (styrofoam, plastic just metal pieces thrown in the box). I expected a higher quality piece considering the price of the frame. I could have went to Walmart and purchased a frame for $60., it would have had a better finished product and meets manufacures standards for mattress warranty. Disappointed!!!

High quality, sturdy bed frame!
We purchased this bedframe so we could have the best support for our new mattress and we were not disappointed! This frame is a high quality frame and easy to assemble. It's very sturdy and we hope to buy one of these for our other queen bed! I can't imagine any improvements that could be made on this design. I love the fact that the legs are set back away from the edge of the bed, so you don't bump your toes on them when you make the bed. Also the frame is longer and supports the foot of the bed better, in case someone sits on the foot of the bed. We love this bed frame!

The best bed frame you will ever buy.
Bed frames hold up a mattress, and usually, that is all they do. This one is the first one I have ever owned that made the mattress feel more supportive, more flat, and all around better to sleep on. And the mattress is a top of the line Royal Pedic. This frame is built like a military war machine but anyone of average intelligence can assemble it, without tools of any kind, in about ten minutes. No matter how you interpret the instructions put the wheels on first. To get them to seat in the plastic inserts you will need a hard ( tile, concrete, steel, etc.) surface and straight line pressure. Once in the plastic insert the wheels will easily seat in the frame. The center "T" will only fit one way. Do not force it. If you are doing it properly, it will drop right in. Get the wheeled version and off-set the locking wheels at opposite ends and sides. When it is time to clean under the frame, you will be glad those wheels are helping you move it. Don't worry about the cost. You will never have to buy another bed frame, no matter how long you live, and you will never find one that will support your mattress and you nearly as well as this one.
